Yes, for practical purposes. DME Assam has held Round 1, Round 2, Round 3 and a stray round. The stray round select list came out on 22 October 2026 with 33 seats (7 MBBS, 26 BDS), and reporting is on 25 and 26 October. DME Assam has announced no round after it. Four: Round 1 (select list 2 September), Round 2 (11 September), Round 3 (12 October) and a stray round (22 October). Round 3 was reopened for fresh choices after a revised seat matrix, and DME revised the Government Dental College, Silchar list on 13 October.

It is not announced. DME Assam publishes the schedule on dme.assam.gov.in after the NEET UG result. In 2026 its first notices came on 5 August, Round 1 registration ran 13 to 15 August and the select list came on 2 September. Treat that as a pattern, not a promise.

DME Assam's Round 3 list carried 1,759 State Quota seats (1,627 MBBS, 132 BDS), and the stray round added 33 more (7 MBBS, 26 BDS). The seat matrix is for the 85 percent State Quota seats in Assam's government medical and dental colleges.

DME Assam's admission notice of 22 October 2026 says admission is provisional and subject to eligibility under the MBBS/BDS Admission Rules. Candidates report to the college Principal with original admit cards, marks sheets, HSLC and HSSLC pass certificates, caste certificate and the other documents the Rules specify. Admission is subject to medical fitness, and a false document or declaration can lead to cancellation and criminal proceedings. An agreement in the prescribed format is to be signed within 15 days of admission.

DME Assam Notice No. 1517 of 12 October 2026 says candidates newly selected or moved to a new college must report to the Principal of the allotted college on 13 or 14 October 2026, or the allotment is cancelled. PwD (Divyang) candidates whose disability was not assessed earlier must report to the Principal-cum-Chief Superintendent of Gauhati Medical College and Hospital, Bhangagarh, on 13 October 2026 at 10 AM for the Medical Board check.

Counting DME Assam's Round 3 selection list of 12 October 2026, the lowest score with a regular MBBS seat is 518 for Unreserved, 511 for EWS, 431 for OBC/MOBC, 434 for SC, 412 for ST (Plains) and 373 for ST (Hills). PwD seats went as low as 179, subject to the Medical Board check.

DME Assam's Round 3 (Revised) seat matrix for the 85 percent State Quota seats, session 2026, shows 71 MBBS seats and 54 BDS seats. DME Assam's Educational Notice No. dME/UG/2026/770111/26-B (26 September 2026) opened 3rd round online counselling for vacant 1st-year MBBS/BDS State Quota seats; registration ran 28 September to 1 October 2026 (till 11:55 PM) at www.dme.assam.gov.in. Candidates who already registered and took part in Round 1 or Round 2 do not register again and go straight to choice filling for a fresh allotment or a change of college. The Government of Assam withdrew clause 3(i)(c) of the MBBS/BDS Admission Rules 2017 under Gazette Notification No. MER.290222/371 dated 29 December 2025. Candidates who appeared in NEET-UG 2026 from another State or UT, but belong to Assam and hold a valid Permanent Resident Certificate of Assam, and are otherwise eligible under the Admission Rules, could apply on plain paper with valid documents to the DME office — but that window closed on 11 August 2026. If you missed it, contact the DME office directly to ask whether any exception applies; this page cannot confirm one. If you did apply and are included, you will subsequently have to produce a certificate proving three generations of your family have resided in Assam, in the format approved under the same 5 August notification. That is a real, specific documentary burden — gather it now rather than waiting for a call.

A certificate covering your entire schooling record from Class I to Class XII, filled and signed by the Head Master or Principal of each school you attended, with their seal and the date. If you studied at more than one school, you need a separate certificate for each one, using photocopies of the same format. The notice states plainly that a certificate without the required signatures will not be accepted — get this from your school now, while records and staff are easy to reach, rather than scrambling once counselling rounds begin.

It must name three generations by relationship — the candidate's parent, that parent's own parent, and that grandparent's own parent — each with village or town, post office, police station and district, certifying all three were Permanent Residents of Assam. The fixed cut-off date for establishing that status is 1 January 2006. It must be signed and sealed by the District Commissioner or an authorised officer of the concerned district; without that signature, it will not be accepted.
