Maharashtra MBBS and BDS Admission 2026-27 —
Full CAP Round 1 Schedule, Registration to Joining
The Maharashtra State CET Cell revised the CAP Round 1 schedule again on 19 August, following MCC's own fresh AIQ schedule revision the same day. Notice No. 10 reopens registration — only for candidates who had not registered under Notice No. 03 or Notice No. 08 — from 20 to 21 August, with payment to 21 August, 10:00 PM. It also confirms every step after that: document verification and a revised merit list on 23 August, the final merit list and seat matrix on 25 August, choice filling 26–29 August, CAP Round 1 declared 30 August, and physical joining through 4 September. Every date, below.
Last verified · 26 August 2026 · against MAHACET Notice No. 12, dated 26 August 2026, on the withheld-candidate court orders and choice-filling process
View Maharashtra MBBS Fees →The short version. Under Notice No. 08 (14 August): MBBS/BDS (Group A) CAP Round 1 registration closed 8:00 PM on 15 August, fee payment closed 10:00 PM and document upload closed 11:59 PM the same day, document verification ran to 17 August, and the registered candidate list and provisional merit list were both due 18 August. Grievances for that provisional list are open 19–20 August to 5:00 PM, unchanged by the newer notice. Then, under Notice No. 10 (19 August): registration has reopened, but only for candidates who had not registered under Notice No. 03 or 08, running 20 August 8:00 PM to 21 August 8:00 PM, with payment (also open to anyone who registered earlier but hadn't paid) to 21 August, 10:00 PM and document upload to 21 August, 11:59 PM. Notice No. 10 then confirms the full chain after that: online document verification and a revised registered/provisional merit list on 23 August, a second grievance window (new registrants only) to 24 August, 5:00 PM, the final merit list and seat matrix on 25 August, choice/preference filling 26–29 August up to 5:30 PM, CAP Round 1 declared 30 August, and physical joining 31 August to 4 September, up to 5:30 PM. This covers Government, Government Aided, Municipal Corporation and Private Unaided medical and dental colleges across Maharashtra. Separate registration with MAHACET is mandatory for State Quota seats, even if you have already registered with MCC for the All India Quota.
Revised twice · Notice No. 08 (14 Aug) then Notice No. 10 (19 Aug) — full chain now confirmed
Every step of the Round 1 schedule moved once already, the registration door reopened, and the State CET Cell has now confirmed everything through to joining. Notice No. 08 (No.MED-1026/CR.No.83/NEET-UG-2026/CAP/Revised Schedule/1990), dated 14 August 2026, states that in view of the extension granted by the Medical Counselling Committee for All India Quota counselling — MCC’s notice of 13 August 2026 — the State CET Cell extended the registration period and revised the CAP schedule accordingly. Registration, originally closing 12 August, closed 15 August at 8:00 PM. The provisional merit list moved from 15 to 18 August.
Notice No. 10 (No.MED-1026/CR.No.83/NEET-UG-2026/CAP/Revised Schedule/2034), dated 19 August 2026, cites both MCC's own revised schedule of 19 August and its own earlier Notice No. 08 as reference, and reopens online registration and session apply — for candidates who had not registered under Notice No. 03 or Notice No. 08 — from 20 August, 8:00 PM to 21 August, 8:00 PM. Payment of registration fees, open to these new registrants and to anyone who registered earlier without paying, runs 20 August, 8:00 PM to 21 August, 10:00 PM, with document upload to 21 August, 11:59 PM. The grievance window for the 18 August provisional merit list (19–20 August, 5:00 PM) is unchanged. Notice No. 10 then lays out every remaining step in full: online document verification and a revised registered/provisional merit list on 23 August, a second grievance window open only to newly registered candidates, to 24 August, 5:00 PM, the final merit list and seat matrix on 25 August, choice/preference filling 26–29 August, up to 5:30 PM, the CAP Round 1 declaration on 30 August, and physical joining at the allotted college 31 August to 4 September, up to 5:30 PM. These figures replace the 21/22-24/25 August dates published under Notice No. 08.
If you registered, paid or uploaded documents under the earlier schedule, nothing is lost — the same portal and the same data carry forward. Notice No. 08 confirms that all remaining instructions in Notice No. 03 stay as they are. The grievance window, open now through 20 August, 5:00 PM, is the only correction opportunity for candidates already on the provisional merit list, and it will not entertain a change without supporting documentary proof.

Rows 8 through 16 are new in this update. Notice No. 10, dated 19 August, had earlier left these downstream steps unstated in the portion we had seen; the full notice text confirms them as above, replacing the 21/22-24/25 August figures Notice No. 08 published on 14 August. Treat this as the current, confirmed schedule — but this process is still explicitly subject to change per MCC, AACCC, Central or State Government, or court directions, so a quick check on cetcell.mahacet.org before you travel for joining is still worth the two minutes.
Update, 25 August: rows 8–11 have run their course on schedule — document verification and the revised registered/provisional merit list were published 23 August, as Notice No. 10 said they would be, with no reports of a further postponement. The final merit list and seat matrix (row 12–13) are due today, 25 August; check the portal for your own result as the day's updates post. No Notice No. 11 or later revision to this chain has surfaced as of this check.
Update, 26 August — the merit list may not be final yet. Notice No. 12 (No.MED-1026/CR.No.83/CET-2026/MBBS-BDS/Choice filing/2107, dated 26 August 2026) discloses that NTA had withheld the results of certain candidates, and that the Hon’ble High Courts of Bombay and Delhi, in recent orders, have directed those petitioner candidates’ results be declared and the candidates allowed to participate in the ongoing CAP process. The courts directed the results be shared with the CET Cell by 27 August 2026. Once received, these candidates join the process and a Revised Final Merit List will be published on the website — meaning the merit list and seat matrix figures above could still move before choice filling closes. To accommodate this, the notice confirms preference forms can be edited multiple times up to 29 August, 5:30 PM, by unlocking with an OTP sent to your registered email and mobile — so candidates can revise their choices even after a revised list is declared, right up to the deadline. Everything else in the schedule (choice filling 26–29 August, CAP Round 1 declared 30 August, joining to 4 September) stands as published.
Two clauses worth reading twice. Grievances at step 7 are only entertained with supportive document proof — no changes are made on a candidate's word alone. And at step 12, fee payment by cheque is allowed only on bank holidays, and has to be replaced with a demand draft on the very next working day; miss that replacement and the admission itself can be cancelled. This entire schedule is also explicitly subject to change per directions from MCC, AACCC, the Central or State Government, or the courts — check the portal, don't just bookmark this page.
NRI candidates had an earlier, separate deadline. Notice No. 08 required NRI candidates to register on the Foreign Candidate Registration Portal before 14 August 2026, 11:59 PM, for verification of eligibility — now closed — after which the schedule above applies to them unchanged. Eligibility criteria and the NRI registration process are set out in Notice No. 04, not in this notice.
Group A Only, for Now —
and Registration With MCC Doesn't Cover This
This schedule is for MBBS and BDS — Group A courses — only. MAHACET's own notice says the schedule for Group B and Group C courses, and the schedule for subsequent Group A rounds, will each be declared separately, in due course. Admissions cover Government, Government Aided, Municipal Corporation and Private Unaided medical and dental colleges, plus any other college the state notifies, all strictly on NEET UG 2026 merit.
The instruction most likely to catch people out. Registering with MCC for the 15% All India Quota does not register you for Maharashtra's State Quota. The notice states plainly that separate registration with the State Competent Authority — MAHACET — is mandatory for State Quota participation, regardless of your AIQ registration status. Two portals, two registrations, two sets of deadlines, and neither one substitutes for the other. MCC's own schedule, for comparison →
What the Notice Itself
Tells You to Get Right
Only NEET-qualified candidates register
MAHACET states only candidates who have qualified NEET UG 2026 for MBBS/BDS are eligible to register for this phase — check your own qualification status against the national cut-off before you begin.
Use only the official portal
Registration is only through the official online admission portal within the prescribed period. The notice doesn't name a second acceptable channel.
No proxy at physical verification
Candidates opting for physical document verification must report to their allotted centre per the notified schedule, with all original documents. The notice states plainly: no proxy allowed.
Check course eligibility before you fill the form
MAHACET's own instruction: candidates should ascertain their eligibility for the various courses before filling up the registration form — not after, when a mismatch is far harder to fix.
Government of Maharashtra, Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell, 8th Floor, New Excelsior Building, A. K. Nayak Road, Fort, Mumbai 400001. Notice No. 08, No.MED-1026/CR.No.83/NEET-UG-2026/CAP/Revised Schedule/1990, dated 14 August 2026: “Extension for Registration and Revised Schedule for admission to MBBS/BDS (Group A) courses for Academic Year 2026-27”. It supersedes the dates in Notice No. 03 (No.MED-1026/CR.No.83/UG-2026/MBBS-BDS/Registration/1899, dated 5 August 2026) and refers to the Medical Counselling Committee notice dated 13 August 2026. Then Notice No. 10, No.MED-1026/CR.No.83/NEET-UG-2026/CAP/Revised Schedule/2034, dated 19 August 2026, titled “Revised Schedule for admission to MBBS/BDS (Group A) courses for Academic Year 2026-27”, referring to both the MCC's revised schedule of 19 August 2026 and its own Notice No. 08, reopens registration and payment for candidates not previously registered and sets out, in full, every step from document verification (23 August) through physical joining (31 August – 4 September). Signed by or for the Commissioner, State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra State, Mumbai. Verify every date on the official CET Cell portal before you register or pay any fee — this schedule is explicitly subject to change per MCC, AACCC, Central or State Government, or court directions. Re-checked 26 August 2026: Notice No. 12 (No.MED-1026/CR.No.83/CET-2026/MBBS-BDS/Choice filing/2107, dated 26 August 2026) confirms the schedule above stands, but flags that Bombay and Delhi High Court orders on NTA-withheld candidate results could still revise the Final Merit List before choice filling closes 29 August.
How to use this page. Every date here was checked against the official counselling authority's own website on 20 August 2026, and rechecked 25 August 2026 against subsequent official reporting — the Notice No. 10 schedule is holding, with document verification and the revised merit list out on 23 August as planned. State authorities extend and revise deadlines at short notice, sometimes with only a few hours' warning, so treat this page as a starting point and confirm the current date on the official portal before you pay any fee. Orchid Education Foundation is an independent admission guidance firm. We are not an agent of any counselling authority, we cannot influence any allotment, and no seat in India can be obtained without a valid NEET UG 2026 score.
Questions Parents Ask Us
The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell, the Competent Authority for admission to undergraduate Health Science courses in the state. Notice No. 03, dated 5 August 2026, opens the Registration Schedule for the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) for MBBS and BDS — classified as Group A courses — for the 2026-27 academic year, covering Government, Government Aided, Municipal Corporation, Private Unaided and other notified Medical and Dental Colleges in Maharashtra.
Online registration and session apply originally ran 6 to 12 August 2026. Notice No. 08, dated 14 August 2026, extended that window to 15 August, up to 8:00 PM; payment of registration fees closed 15 August, 10:00 PM, and uploading scanned original documents closed 15 August, 11:59 PM. Then Notice No. 10, dated 19 August 2026, reopened registration a second time — but only for candidates who had not registered under Notice No. 03 or 08 — from 20 August, 8:00 PM to 21 August, 8:00 PM, with payment (also open to earlier registrants who hadn't paid) to 21 August, 10:00 PM, and document upload to 21 August, 11:59 PM. If you already registered and paid, none of this second window applies to you.
Yes. The notice states this in its own important instructions: separate registration with the State Competent Authority is mandatory for participation in Maharashtra's State Quota counselling, irrespective of whether you've registered with MCC for All India Quota counselling. The two processes don't share data automatically — you have to do both.
You will not be considered for admission from your claimed category. The notice is explicit that failure to upload the requisite documents within the given period, in the prescribed format, is entirely the candidate's own responsibility, and it can mean cancellation of the form. Get your documents scanned in colour and ready before the window opens, not after.
31 August to 4 September 2026, up to 5:30 PM, per the confirmed schedule in Notice No. 10 (19 August), which superseded the 26-30 August window Notice No. 08 had originally set. The notice allows payment by cheque on bank holidays, to be replaced with a demand draft on the next working day — but if that replacement DD isn't submitted on that next working day, the admission itself can be cancelled. This whole schedule remains subject to change per MCC, AACCC, Central or State Government, or court directions, so confirm the current joining dates on cetcell.mahacet.org before you travel.
It may still change. Notice No. 12, dated 26 August 2026, discloses that NTA had withheld the results of certain candidates, and that the Hon’ble High Courts of Bombay and Delhi have ordered those candidates’ results declared and the candidates included in the ongoing CAP process. The courts directed the results be shared with the CET Cell by 27 August 2026, after which a Revised Final Merit List will be published. To accommodate this, preference forms can be edited multiple times up to 29 August, 5:30 PM, by unlocking with an OTP sent to your registered email and mobile — so you can revise choices even after a revised list appears. The rest of the schedule, including CAP Round 1 declaration on 30 August, is unchanged.
