The short version. Rajasthan's NEET UG 2026 Round 1 is open only to Rajasthan State domicile candidates. Registration and application fee (₹2,500) run 12–17 August, to 4:00 PM, at ug.neetrajasthan.com — both Part 1 and Part 2 of the form must be completed. Seat matrix 13 August. Security deposit of ₹5,00,000 and choice filling together run 14–20 August, to 6:00 PM. Merit list 18 August, allotment result 22 August. Tuition payment and physical reporting at SMS Medical College, Jaipur both run 23–27 August.

Read this first if you are from outside Rajasthan

Round 1 is domicile-restricted. The official schedule carries the line “Only for Rajasthan State domicile candidates” directly under its heading. If you hold an Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur or any other non-Rajasthan domicile, your NEET UG 2026 rank does not open this round to you. Your realistic routes into Rajasthan medical colleges are the 15% All India Quota through MCC counselling, and any NRI or management quota seats released under separate notifications. We would rather tell you that here than have you pay ₹2,500 to find out.

The ₹5 Lakh Question

A Deposit, Not a Fee —
and the Difference Matters

Rajasthan asks for ₹5,00,000 at the choice filling stage, which is well above what most states ask at the same point — Jharkhand, by comparison, asks ₹2 lakh for a private medical seat. The number alarms families, and it should be understood properly rather than feared.

Per the schedule, the counselling board forwards this amount to your allotted college, and it is adjusted against your first-year college fees. That is why step 6 reads as it does: when you pay your one-year tuition between 23 and 27 August, the ₹5 lakh is deducted from the total. In other words, for a candidate who is allotted a seat and joins it, this is money moved earlier, not money added.

What the schedule does not say. It does not state what happens to the ₹5 lakh if you are allotted a seat and then decline it, or fail to report. Most states forfeit some or all of the deposit in that situation. Because this schedule is silent on it, confirm the forfeiture terms in writing on ug.neetrajasthan.com before you pay — do not assume it is fully refundable, and do not assume it is fully forfeited either.

What looks oddWhat it means for you
Choice filling opens 14 August, but the merit list is only published 18 AugustYou build and lock your preference list before you know your position in the state merit order. Order your choices by genuine preference rather than by where you guess you will land, and treat the list as final once submitted.
Registration closes 17 August, but choice filling continues to 20 AugustThese are two separate deadlines, three days apart. Missing 17 August ends your Round 1 entirely — there is no way to enter later and still fill choices. Register first, perfect your choices afterwards.
Tuition payment and physical reporting share the same 23–27 August windowPayment closes at 3:30 PM and reporting at 4:00 PM on the final day. If you leave both to 27 August you are managing a bank transaction and a document appointment in Jaipur on the same afternoon.

Source and scope. Dates, fees and the domicile restriction on this page come from the official Rajasthan State Counselling Schedule — Round 1 for NEET UG 2026. The schedule covers Round 1 only; later rounds, the detailed eligibility criteria and the college-wise seat matrix are published separately on ug.neetrajasthan.com. Confirm every date against that portal before you act on it — state counselling authorities revise deadlines at short notice. Orchid Education Foundation is an independent admission guidance firm. We are not an agent of any counselling authority, we cannot influence any allotment, and no MBBS seat in India can be obtained without a valid NEET UG 2026 score.

Rajasthan FAQs

Questions Parents Ask Us

Can a candidate from outside Rajasthan apply in Round 1?
+

No. The official Round 1 schedule states plainly at the top: only for Rajasthan State domicile candidates. If you do not hold Rajasthan domicile, this round is closed to you regardless of your NEET UG 2026 rank. For a student from Assam or elsewhere in the Northeast, the routes into Rajasthan colleges are the All India Quota through MCC, and any NRI or management seats offered under separate notifications — not this round.

When exactly does Rajasthan NEET UG 2026 Round 1 registration open and close?
+

Registration and payment of the application fee run from 12 August 2026 to 17 August 2026, up to 4:00 PM, at ug.neetrajasthan.com. Both Part 1 and Part 2 of the application form must be filled and completed — an incomplete Part 2 means an incomplete application. The application fee is ₹2,500.

What is the ₹5 lakh security deposit, and do I lose it?
+

It is a deposit of ₹5,00,000 payable during the choice filling window (14–20 August, up to 6:00 PM) for MBBS seats, through a link provided by the counselling board. Importantly, it is not a fee you forfeit by default: the counselling board forwards the amount to your allotted college and it is adjusted against your first-year college fees. When you deposit your one-year tuition between 23 and 27 August, that ₹5 lakh is deducted from what you owe. Confirm the forfeiture conditions on the official portal before you pay, since the schedule itself does not spell out what happens if you are allotted a seat and do not join.

What is the full Rajasthan Round 1 timeline?
+

Registration and application fee: 12–17 August (to 4:00 PM). Seat matrix published: 13 August. Security deposit and choice filling: 14–20 August (to 6:00 PM). Merit list: 18 August. Round 1 allotment result: 22 August. Deposition of one-year tuition fee by allotted candidates, after deducting the ₹5 lakh: 23–27 August (till 3:30 PM). Reporting and document submission: 23–27 August (9:00 AM to 4:00 PM).

Where do I report after seat allotment?
+

Reporting and document submission, including verification against the prescribed eligibility criteria, takes place at the Academic Block, SMS Medical College, Jaipur, between 23 and 27 August 2026, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. This is a physical reporting requirement at a single centre — plan travel accordingly, since the window closes at 4:00 PM on the final day.

Why does choice filling start before the merit list is published?
+

The schedule does place choice filling (from 14 August) ahead of the merit list (18 August), which surprises many families. In practice it means you build and lock your preference list before you know your position in the state merit order. Fill your choices on the assumption that you cannot revise them once you see the list, and order them by genuine preference rather than by where you guess you will land.
