The Medical Counselling Committee has revised its Round 1 allotment schedule for the 50% All India Quota and 100% of deemed, central university and AFMS dental PG seats — part of the same wave of MCC schedule changes that has moved NEET UG dates this week. Registration now runs to 29 August, choice filling/locking to 30 August, the result is now due 2 September, and reporting runs 3–11 September. Every date below — plus Bihar's BCECEB PGDAC-2026 schedule (registration closed 24 August, rank card 26 August), Punjab BFUHS's PG MDS-2026 application deadline, itself just extended to 29 August (notice dated 22 August), Chhattisgarh's newly-notified state quota Round 1 (registration 22–29 August), the Karnataka window that closed before MCC even opened, Rajasthan's own state-quota Round 1 notified 18 August, and Uttar Pradesh's Round 1 schedule notified 19 August.

Read this first if you are unsure which page you need. NEET MDS is a separate postgraduate exam and a separate counselling process from NEET UG. MBBS, BDS and BAMS — the bachelor's degrees — are all admitted through NEET UG 2026 counselling, run by MCC and each state authority on the schedule at that link. MDS (Master of Dental Surgery) is a postgraduate degree you can only pursue after completing a BDS, and it runs on its own exam (NEET MDS, conducted by NBEMS), its own MCC schedule, and its own state notifications — entirely separate portals, separate registrations, separate dates from the ones on the NEET UG page. The short answer. MCC has revised NEET MDS 2026 Round 1. Participating institutes verified the tentative seat matrix on 17 August; registration and payment now run 18 to 29 August (registration closes 12:00 noon, payment 4:00 PM on the 29th) — extended from the originally published 23 August close. Choice filling now runs 19 August to 30 August to 11:59 PM, with locking open from 6:00 PM on 29 August; allotment processes 31 August–1 September; the result is now 2 September (was 26 August); reporting runs 3–11 September. We have not seen a restated notice number for this revision, and MCC has not (in what we've seen) published revised Round 2, Round 3 or stray-vacancy dates to match — the previously published Round 2 seat-matrix date of 3 September now falls inside the new Round 1 reporting window, so treat every date beyond Round 1 as unconfirmed until MCC publishes a fresh full-cycle schedule. Register only at mcc.nic.in. Separately, Karnataka's KEA opened PG Dental registration for PGET-2026 at 11:00 AM on 14 August, closing 17 August, 11:59 PM, with the fee payable by 6:00 PM on 18 August. And on 18 August, Rajasthan's State PG (MDS) Counselling Board released its own Round 1 schedule: registration opens 22 August, fee deposit and form submission close 25 August (4:00 PM / 8:00 PM), and the result is declared 1 September, at mds.neetrajasthan.com. A day later, on 19 August, Uttar Pradesh's DGME released its own Round 1 schedule, then revised it on 27 August (Letter No. ME-3/2026/1584): online registration and fee/security deposit now run 21 to 31 August, both closing 2:00 PM on the 31st; the merit list is now declared the same day; choice filling runs 1 to 7 September; and the result is now declared 7 September, at upneet.gov.in. And on 21 August, Chhattisgarh's Directorate of Medical Education notified its own state quota Round 1: online application runs 22 to 29 August (11:00 AM to 11:59 PM, non-refundable ₹2,000 fee), with choice filling and locking open 22 to 30 August, at cgdme.in. Separately, Punjab's Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot published its PG-MDS-2026 prospectus with an online application window originally set for 20 to 23 August, but a 22 August notice has since extended that to 29 August and put every date after it — correction window, fee deadline, provisional merit list, choice filling, allotment, reporting — on hold pending a fresh notification; see the Punjab section below for exactly what's confirmed and what's superseded. And on 19 August, Bihar's BCECEB released its PGDAC-2026 (MDS) schedule: registration and application with payment closed 24 August, the rank card is due 26 August, choice filling and locking for Round 1 and Round 2 both close 27 August, and the Round 1 provisional allotment result follows 30 August, at BCECEB's portal. Two more states joined this page on 31 August: Maharashtra's State CET Cell issued a revised CAP Round 1 schedule the same day, with document verification on 31 August, the merit list process running through 3 September, choice filling 4–6 September, CAP Round 1 declared 7 September, and joining running to 11 September, at mahacet.org; and Gujarat's ACPPGMEC advertised its 1st Round choice filling window, which its own dates table gives as closing 5 September, 11:00 AM, with choices displayed the same day at 3:00 PM — see the Gujarat section below for a date in that notice we could not read literally.

Karnataka closes one day before MCC opens. Read that sentence twice. KEA's PGET-2026 registration for PG Dental courses runs from 11:00 AM on 14 August to 11:59 PM on 17 August 2026. MCC's own MDS Round 1 registration does not open until 18 August. If you are waiting for MCC to start before deciding whether Karnataka is worth applying to, the Karnataka window will already have shut. These are two separate registrations, on two separate portals, with two separate fees, and neither one carries over into the other.
The practical instruction is simple: if there is any realistic chance you would take a Karnataka MDS seat — government, government quota in a private or minority college, or a private seat — register with KEA in the next three days and pay by 6:00 PM on 18 August. Registering does not commit you to anything. Not registering removes the option entirely.
All timings are as per MCC server time, not your phone clock. MCC has historically enforced these to the minute.

Every row from Registration onward is revised, extending Round 1 by roughly a week. This follows the same MCC schedule change that has pushed NEET UG dates this week. We have not seen a restated notice number for this specific revision. It creates a direct clash with Round 2 below — MCC has not, as far as we've seen, published matching revised dates for Round 2 onward, so treat everything past Round 1 in the table below as unconfirmed.
The locking window is more generous here than in the UG schedule, and that is worth using. MDS choice locking now opens at 6:00 PM on 29 August while filling is still running, and both close together at 11:59 PM on 30 August. So you can build your list, lock it, and still have hours in hand — unlike NEET UG 2026, where filling and locking were compressed into the same closing hour. Use that gap deliberately: lock the evening before the deadline, sleep on it, and only revisit if something material changes. Do not leave locking to the last hour; the portal is at its slowest exactly then.
Registration, choice filling, result and reporting for each round of the MCC MDS 2026 process. Round 1 reflects MCC's revised schedule; Rounds 2 through the stray vacancy round still show the originally published dates, which MCC has not yet restated.

Round 1 reporting (3–11 September) now runs directly into Round 2's previously published seat-matrix date (3 September) and registration window (3–8 September). MCC has revised Round 1 but has not, in what we've seen, published matching revised dates for Round 2 onward. This is very likely to shift — do not plan Round 2 registration or travel around the dates in the table above until MCC publishes an updated full-cycle schedule. Check mcc.nic.in directly.
Two things stood out in the originally published cycle and are worth keeping in mind even though Round 1 has since moved. First, the reporting windows were designed to get longer as the process goes on — six days in Round 1 originally, seven in Round 2, eight in Round 3 and the stray round. That reflects how far candidates typically have to travel by the later rounds, and how much harder the paperwork gets when a seat is accepted late. Round 1's reporting window is now nine days under the revised schedule, so this pattern may already be shifting.
Second, MCC has explicitly directed all participating institutes to treat Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted holidays as working days for this schedule. Do not assume a college office will be shut on a weekend during a reporting window, and equally, do not assume you can use a weekend as slack in your own travel plan.
Half of every government dental college's MDS intake goes to the national pool, allotted on NEET MDS rank with no domicile bar at all. At undergraduate level the equivalent figure is 15%. For a BDS graduate from Assam, Manipur or Nagaland, this is the single biggest structural advantage the PG dental process offers over the UG one.
Every MDS seat in a participating deemed university is filled through MCC. Fees here run far above government colleges and vary sharply by specialisation, so establish the full three-year cost before a single choice goes into your list.
Central university dental seats and Armed Forces Medical Services institutions run through the same MCC schedule. AFMS admission carries service obligations that no other route does — read those terms before you fill the choice, not after allotment.
The remaining half of government college seats, and most private dental college seats, are counselled by each state's own authority on its own calendar. Rajasthan's Round 1 was just notified. KEA states that non-Karnataka candidates are not eligible for reservation. In consequence, they may register only if they scored the 50th percentile or above fixed for the General (UR) category in NEET MDS 2026. SC, ST and OBC eligibility criteria apply to Karnataka SC/ST/OBC candidates only. A candidate from Assam holding an OBC certificate is assessed against the General threshold here.
Government Order SKE 08 SLP 2024 dated 25 August 2025, read with DPAR 02 SeHiMa 2026 dated 27 April 2026, introduced internal reservation within the Scheduled Caste category as SCA, SCB and SCC. KEA's notification is explicit: Scheduled Caste candidates must obtain a caste certificate printed with that internal category and enter the RD number while applying. Fail to do so and you are not eligible to select SC-reserved seats at all.
The notification directs candidates to read the conditions hosted on the KEA website before appearing for verification, and states that those claiming clause 'a' or clause 'y' need not appear for verification. Establish which clause, if any, applies to you before you book a slot and buy a ticket to Bengaluru.
KEA states plainly that merely qualifying NEET MDS 2026 confers no right on a candidate for admission unless eligibility conditions are met and documents submitted, and that only candidates who complete registration including document verification are eligible for PG dental seats in government or private colleges in Karnataka. Registration alone is not enough.
All rounds are KEA's, and all rounds are online. The notification records that per the NMC letter of 24 July 2023, every round of counselling including the stray vacancy round is conducted only by KEA in online mode. There is no separate college-level admission process to chase in Karnataka, and any consultant or college office telling you otherwise is describing something that does not legally exist. Register with KEA and complete document verification, or you are not in the running. Only the application window has a real date. Every step after it — merit list, final merit, web options, closure — is listed in the university's own notice as pending, with candidates directed to check drntr.uhsap.in regularly. The notice states explicitly that all dates are tentative and the university reserves the right to change them without assigning any reason or advance notice, and that mere submission of an application does not confer any right to a seat.
The notice states the entire application process runs online, including uploading images and scanned copies of original certificates, and paying fees. Candidates are explicitly told not to send a printout of the application or verification form to the university — no offline applications are accepted at any stage.
All further notifications publish on the university website only, and the notice states plainly that no individual intimations will be sent. The instruction is to visit drntr.uhsap.in regularly until admissions close — the same discipline every other state MDS notification on this page requires.
A printout of the application, the Provisional Verification form, and original certificates are produced only at the time of admission at the allotted college. There is no separate, earlier document verification step named in this notice, unlike Karnataka's process.

Registration and the merit list held firm — everything after them moved four to five days later. Registration, the fee deposit split (4:00 PM for the fee, 8:00 PM the same day for the form) and the provisional merit list all happened exactly as the 18 August notice set out. The 27 August revision only touches what comes after: security deposit and choice filling/locking now run to 2 September instead of 30 August, and the result moves from 1 September to 5 September.
The order is still conventional — merit list before choice filling, exactly as originally scheduled — just later. You still know your position in the state merit order before you have to lock a single choice; you now simply have five extra days to do it in.
What the revised notice does not say. It carries no distinguishing notification number of its own — both the 18 August original and the 27 August revision are numbered only “State PG Counselling Board/2026/”, so the date is the only way to tell them apart. It states no rupee figure for the security amount payable 28 August–2 September — candidates are still pointed to the Information Bulletin. It also does not state, anywhere in either notice, whether Round 1 is open only to Rajasthan-domicile candidates or to the wider state quota pool the way Karnataka's PGET-2026 is; the fee table is the only clue (see below), and it cuts the other way from the UG schedule's explicit domicile banner. Confirm both figures in the Information Bulletin at mds.neetrajasthan.com before you register.

The reduced ₹3,000 fee is expressly reserved for SC, ST and ST-STA candidates of Rajasthan state domicile — which reads as an implicit signal that non-domicile candidates may register for the general fee, though neither notice states this in so many words. Refer the Information Bulletin, college information sheet and college fee structure on the counselling website before you proceed, and revisit this page as the detailed programme for rounds beyond Round 1 is published. Notification No. ME-3/2026/1547, dated 19 August 2026, issued by the Office of the Director General, Medical Education & Training, Kisan Bazar, Vibhuti Khand, Gomtinagar, Lucknow, set the original time schedule of the first round of online counselling for state quota MDS seats in Government and Private Dental Colleges/Universities of Uttar Pradesh. A further Letter No. ME-3/2026/1584, dated 27 August 2026, from the same office, revises that schedule — “in continuation of the revised time-table issued by Medical Counseling Committee (MCC), New Delhi” — extending every step below.

The whole schedule has moved four days later — registration and the fee/security deposit still run in the same window, unlike Rajasthan. UP's revised Letter No. ME-3/2026/1584 (27 August) pushes the bundled online registration and fee/security deposit window from 21–27 August out to 21–31 August, both closing 2:00 PM on 31 August. There is still no separate later security-deposit step the way Rajasthan schedules one for 28–30 August; whatever UP requires as security is collected upfront alongside registration.
The order after that is unchanged in shape, just later: merit list now on 31 August (the same day registration closes), then choice filling 1 to 7 September, then the result now on 7 September — so, as with Rajasthan, you will know your state merit position before you have to file a single choice.
What the notification does not say. It gives no rupee figure anywhere for the registration fee or the security fee — unlike Rajasthan's notification, which at least states ₹4,000/₹3,000 on its face, UP's schedule notice states none of this and simply directs candidates to the departmental websites. It also does not state a domicile restriction, a reservation policy, or which candidates — if any — are exempt from any step. This is a bare time-schedule notice, not a full information bulletin; treat it as the dates only, and confirm every rupee figure and eligibility clause on upneet.gov.in or dgme.up.gov.in before you register.
Five helpline numbers are listed on both notices — 8189011696, 8189011697, 8189011698, 8189011699 and 8189011700 — which is more than any other state notification on this page provides, and is worth using if the portal itself is ambiguous about a step. Register only at upneet.gov.in or dgme.up.gov.in.

Choice filling and locking run a full day past the application deadline, and stay open even after Lock & Submit. Online application closes 29 August at 11:59 PM, but choice filling and locking continues to 30 August, also 11:59 PM — a full extra day to build and order your list once your application is in. The notice also states plainly that even after you have completed Lock & Submit on the application itself, a free Reset facility remains available if you want to change anything, right up to the final application date. Few state notices anywhere on this page offer that kind of built-in correction window.
Pay at least 36 hours before the deadline, in the Commission's own words. The notice specifically warns that bank gateway payment clearance can sometimes take up to 24 hours because of payment-gateway complications, and advises paying the application fee at least 36 hours before the last date so you are not forced to pay an additional fee if a payment fails to clear in time. With the application closing at 11:59 PM on 29 August, that means paying by roughly noon on 28 August to stay safely inside that margin.
Before applying, candidates must review the Chhattisgarh Dental Postgraduate Admission Rules, 2017 — the notice cites Rule 9 (“Counselling Process”) specifically for the list of documents required at online registration. Payment accepts Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card and UPI. The notice places the entire counselling process — registration fee payment, institution and subject choice, choice locking, bonus marks and so on — in the candidate's own hands, and states explicitly that if a candidate's registration or allotment is cancelled due to incomplete or incorrect information, the entire responsibility rests with the candidate alone; neither the Commissioner's office nor the counselling committee accepts any responsibility for it. Register only at www.cgdme.in, and check cgdme.admissions.nic.in regularly for further counselling updates — the notice asks for exactly that.

Application window extended — the rest of the schedule below is now provisional. A BFUHS notice dated 22 August 2026 extends the last date for online application submission for the 1st Round from 23 to 29 August 2026. BFUHS states plainly that the remaining counselling schedule (correction window, fee deadline, merit list, choice filling, allotment, reporting) will be uploaded on the University website later — every date below that followed the old 23 August close is now superseded and awaiting a fresh notification. Register your application, but do not plan around the dates that follow it until BFUHS republishes them.

What was true before the extension, and what changes. Four category-specific document-submission tracks — PCMS, NRI quota, and Christian/Sikh minority quota — each still need their own verification, and objection windows against the merit list and allotment are still restricted to personal appearance in Faridkot with documents in hand, per the original prospectus. One of those four now has a confirmed date: BFUHS's separate notice dated 26 August 2026 tells Sikh/Christian Minority Quota registrants to report for minority-status verification on 31 August 2026, 9:00 AM, at Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Dental Sciences & Research, Amritsar (Sikh quota) or Christian Dental College, Ludhiana (Christian quota), with original documents. PCMS and NRI quota verification dates remain unrenotified. NRI candidates still need an Eligibility Certificate obtained from the University before applying. What's no longer reliable is the exact date the rest of this happens by — wait for BFUHS's revised schedule before planning travel around any other step.
The prospectus states plainly that any amendment or notice issued by the Government of Punjab, Government of India, or mcc.nic.in regarding PG admissions for the 2026 session will apply on top of this schedule — so this is not a closed, final document. It also warns that a provisionally allotted candidate who fails to deposit the fee through the online portal within the given time has their allotment treated as cancelled, and that the application form locks automatically after the last date. Register only at www.bfuhs.ac.in, and cross-check www.mcc.nic.in regularly for anything that supersedes this notice.

Registration has already closed — the rank card is the next thing to watch. Online registration and application submission (with payment) closed 24 August at 11:59 PM. If you registered, the next date that matters is the rank card on 26 August, followed immediately by choice filling and locking, which closes 27 August at 11:59 PM — only a day's gap to build and order your list once the rank card is out. Round 1 provisional allotment follows on 30 August.
This schedule runs on BCECEB's own calendar, separate from Bihar's UGMAC (MBBS/BDS) counselling and separate from MCC's NEET MDS AIQ schedule — registering with one gives you nothing in the others. Confirm every date directly at BCECEB's official portal before you act, particularly if you missed the 24 August registration close.

The merit list happens before you file a single choice, same as Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. Document verification, the registered candidate list and the provisional merit list all land in the first two days, the final merit list and seat matrix follow on 3 September, and only then does choice filling open, running three days to 4–6 September, 5:30 PM. CAP Round 1 is declared the next day, 7 September, with four days to join — 8 to 11 September, also to 5:30 PM.
One detail worth reading twice: the notice permits paying the joining fee by cheque on a bank holiday, but requires it to be replaced with a demand draft on the next working day, and warns that admission may be cancelled if that replacement does not happen. If your joining date falls on or near a bank holiday, do not rely on a cheque alone — carry a DD as the safer option from the start.
What the notice does not say. It gives no rupee figure anywhere for a registration, security or joining fee, and states no domicile or reservation clause on its face — it is a revised time-schedule notice, not a full information bulletin, so confirm both at the CET Cell's own portal before you act. It also states, in its own words, that this schedule is subject to change per any direction from MCC, NBEMS, the Dental Council, the Central Government, the State Government or a court — which is a broader list of possible triggers than any other state notice on this page names, though it does not say which of those, if any, produced this particular revision. Candidates are directed to keep checking www.mahacet.org.
This is Maharashtra's own state-quota CAP process, run entirely separately from MCC's All India Quota schedule above — registering with one gives you nothing in the other. Register and track every stage only at www.mahacet.org.

The source notice literally reads “31/09/2026” — a date that does not exist. ACPPGMEC's own dates table gives the choice filling window as running from “31/09/2026” to “05/09/2026”, 11:00 AM. 31 September is not a calendar date in any month, so this reads as a clerical error in the original notice, almost certainly meant to be 31 August 2026 — the day before the stated closing date, and the same day Maharashtra's own revised MDS schedule (above) opens an equivalent step. We are stating the window as 31 August to 5 September 2026, 11:00 AM in the table above because that is the only reading the surrounding schedule supports, but we have not corrected the source document itself, and neither should you assume it is corrected. Treat this as an unresolved typo in a government notice, not a confirmed date, until ACPPGMEC issues a corrigendum or the live portal shows the window actually open. Verify the current status directly at www.medadmgujarat.org before assuming this round has started.
This advertisement carries no fee figure, no domicile clause and no eligibility detail beyond “candidates on the ACPPGMEC Merit List” — it is a choice-filling notice, not a full information bulletin, so the fee structure, reservation policy and category-wise seat distribution sit elsewhere on the portal, not in this advertisement. Gujarat's MDS counselling runs on ACPPGMEC's own calendar, separate from MCC's All India Quota schedule. Register and check every date only at www.medadmgujarat.org.

What we do not have, stated plainly. This page carries only what the issuing authority has actually published. MCC has released the schedule; the MDS seat matrix follows institute verification. Rajasthan's 18 August notification gives no rupee figure for its Round 1 security deposit and does not state a domicile restriction — both are pushed to the Information Bulletin. Its 27 August revision, which pushes the result from 1 to 5 September, carries no distinguishing notification number of its own and adds nothing on either point. Uttar Pradesh's 19 August notification, and its 27 August revision extending the dates, are both bare time-schedules — no fee figure, no domicile or reservation clause at all, on either registration or security fee. Chhattisgarh's 21 August notification gives a clear ₹2,000 fee figure but, like Uttar Pradesh's, states no domicile restriction or reservation policy at all — candidates are pointed only to the 2017 Admission Rules for document requirements. Punjab's BFUHS prospectus originally gave clear fees and a detailed schedule, including named minority-quota verification centres, but a 22 August notice has extended the application deadline to 29 August and put every date after it on hold pending a fresh notification — and the prospectus never stated anywhere in the Important Dates sheet whether the general state quota seats carry a Punjab-domicile restriction, a detail that sits in the full prospectus, not this dates table. Tamil Nadu's July notification left rank declaration, counselling dates, course commencement and closure of admission all as “will be notified later”, and those remain unannounced. Assam's counselling, originally set for 29 August by a 24 August 2026 Regional Dental College, Guwahati notice (as directed by the Office of the Director of Medical Education, Assam), was re-scheduled to 7 September 2026 by a further RDC Guwahati notice dated 27 August 2026 — it covers Assam State Quota MDS seats at RDC Guwahati only, for candidates in the state NEET-MDS-2026 merit list up to rank 25, states no fee figure, and gives no separate schedule for candidates outside that rank band. Maharashtra's 31 August revised CAP Round 1 notice states, in its own words, that the schedule is subject to change per any direction from MCC, NBEMS, the Dental Council, the Central Government, the State Government or a court — a broader list of possible triggers than any other state names on this page — but it does not say which of those actually caused this revision, and we have not independently confirmed a reason beyond its reference to MCC's own 27 August schedule change. Gujarat's ACPPGMEC 1st Round choice filling advertisement contains what reads as a clerical date error: its own dates table gives the window opening on “31/09/2026”, a date that does not exist on any calendar. We read that as 31 August 2026 by inference from the surrounding schedule, not from anything ACPPGMEC has corrected or confirmed, and we have flagged rather than silently fixed it in the Gujarat section above. Where a state is missing from the table above, it is because nothing has been issued that we can read, not because nothing exists — call us and we will check the specific state you need.
Regional Dental College, Guwahati — established 1982 by the North Eastern Council, the first dental college in the Northeast, now affiliated to Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences — runs roughly ten MDS seats a year, spread two apiece across Prosthodontics, Periodontics, Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and Orthodontics. That is the anchor of dental postgraduate training in the region. It is also, on any realistic reading, nowhere near enough for the number of BDS graduates the region produces each year.
Which is why the arithmetic of the All India Quota matters so much more at MDS than it did at BDS. Half of every government dental college seat in the country is in a pool where your Assam or Manipur address is neither an advantage nor a handicap — only your NEET MDS rank counts. A candidate who treats MCC as an afterthought and pins everything on the state quota is competing for a handful of seats when a national pool was open to them on the same score.
The practical shape of a Northeast candidate's 2026 plan, then, is usually multi-legged: register with MCC for the national pool, register with the state authorities whose windows are open and whose colleges you would genuinely accept — Rajasthan's Round 1 opened 22 August and, per a 27 August revision, now declares its result 5 September instead of 1 September; its fee table does not obviously exclude non-domicile candidates the way its own NEET UG schedule does; Uttar Pradesh's opens 21 August and states no domicile restriction at all in its notice; Chhattisgarh's opens the same day, 22 August, at a flat ₹2,000 application fee with no domicile clause stated either; Punjab's BFUHS application window is open now too, extended to 29 August as of a 22 August notice, though its named minority-quota routes — Christian at Christian Dental College, Ludhiana, Sikh at Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Dental Sciences & Research, Amritsar, both now confirmed for verification on 31 August — are unlikely to help a candidate without those affiliations, so read the full prospectus rather than assume the general state quota is open to you — and for the small number of Assam candidates ranked in the top 25 of the state NEET-MDS-2026 merit list, RDC Guwahati's own counselling, re-scheduled from 29 August, is now on the calendar for 7 September. Running one and skipping the others is the most common and most expensive mistake we see.

18 August 2026, and MCC has since revised the closing date. Registration and payment now run 18 to 29 August 2026, with registration closing at 12:00 noon on 29 August and the payment facility open until 4:00 PM the same day, both as per server time. Participating institutes verified the tentative seat matrix on 17 August 2026. Registration is at mcc.nic.in and nowhere else.
For Round 1, per MCC's revised schedule, choice filling now runs 19 August to 30 August 2026 and stays available until 11:59 PM on 30 August. Choice locking opens earlier, at 6:00 PM on 29 August, and closes at 11:59 PM on 30 August. Both are server time. As before, locking opens while filling is still running, so you can lock and still have time to reconsider before the window shuts.
2 September 2026, per MCC's revised schedule — pushed back from the originally published 26 August. Seat allotment processing now runs 31 August to 1 September, the result is declared on 2 September, and reporting or joining at the allotted institute runs 3 to 11 September 2026. Institutes verify joined candidate data on 12-13 September. MCC has not, in what we've seen, restated Round 2, Round 3 or stray-vacancy dates to match this shift, so treat the previously published 11 September (Round 2), 30 September (Round 3) and 16 October (stray vacancy) result dates as unconfirmed.
Fifty per cent of MDS seats in government dental colleges go to the All India Quota counselled by MCC, plus 100 per cent of seats in deemed universities, central universities and Armed Forces Medical Services institutions. This is a much larger national pool than NEET UG, where the All India Quota is only 15 per cent. The remaining 50 per cent state quota is counselled by each state authority separately, on its own calendar.
29 August 2026, at www.bfuhs.ac.in — extended from the originally notified 23 August. Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot published its PG-MDS-2026 prospectus with the tentative seat distribution on 20 August, then issued a fresh notice on 22 August 2026 extending the application deadline to 29 August. BFUHS states the remaining counselling schedule (correction window, fee deadline, provisional merit list, objections, Round 1 choice filling, allotment, reporting) will be uploaded on the University website later — the dates originally attached to those steps (24 August onward) are superseded and should not be relied on until BFUHS republishes them. PCMS category, NRI quota, and Christian/Sikh minority quota candidates still have their own separate document-submission requirement, and objections are still accepted only by personal appearance at the admission branch, BFUHS Faridkot, per the original prospectus.

It covers government dental colleges, government quota seats in private and minority dental colleges, and private seats in private dental colleges and private universities in Karnataka. Note that this window closes a day before MCC's own MDS registration opens.

KEA's PGET-2026 notification states that non-Karnataka candidates are not eligible for reservation, and that they may register only if they have scored the 50th percentile or above fixed for the General (UR) category in NEET MDS 2026. SC, ST and OBC eligibility criteria apply to Karnataka SC/ST/OBC candidates only. For a BDS graduate from Assam or elsewhere in the Northeast, that means the General cut-off applies regardless of the category certificate you hold at home.
No. The Tamil Nadu MDS application window for the 2026-27 session opened at 12 noon on 13 July 2026 and closed at 11:00 AM on 22 July 2026, under a notification dated 11 July 2026. The rank declaration date, counselling dates, course commencement and closure of admission were all left as "will be notified later" in that notification and had not been announced when this page was last verified. If you did not apply by 22 July, the Tamil Nadu state quota route is shut for this cycle — but the MCC All India Quota still reaches Tamil Nadu government dental colleges.

The Office of the Chairman, NEET PG (MDS) Admission/Counselling Board 2026 at SMS Medical College, Jaipur, released the Round 1 schedule on 18 August 2026, in compliance with MCC's state schedule for AIQ counselling; registration and fee deposition opened 22 August and closed as planned on 25 August (fee by 4:00 PM, form by 8:00 PM). The provisional merit list still published at midnight on 27 August. But a further Revised Schedule notice, also dated 27 August 2026, pushes every stage after the merit list later: security deposit and choice filling/locking (auto-locked) now run 28 August to 2 September, the result is now declared on 5 September (was 1 September), and allotment letters, reporting and document/fee/bond submission at SMS Medical College, Jaipur now run 7 to 11 September. Register only at mds.neetrajasthan.com.

The Office of the Director General, Medical Education & Training, Lucknow, released the original Round 1 time schedule on 19 August 2026 (Notification No. ME-3/2026/1547), then issued a revised time schedule on 27 August 2026 (Letter No. ME-3/2026/1584) extending it. Online registration and deposition of the registration and security fee now both run 21 to 31 August, closing 2:00 PM on 31 August. The merit list is now declared 31 August, choice filling runs 1 September (11:00 AM) to 7 September (11:00 AM), the seat allotment result is now declared 7 September, and allotment letter download and admission run 8 to 13 September. The notice states no fee figure and no domicile or reservation clause — confirm both at upneet.gov.in or dgme.up.gov.in before you register.
Yes, always. MCC registration gives you nothing in any state, and a state registration gives you nothing at MCC. Separate portals, separate fees, separate deadlines, and in 2026 they do not run in a convenient order — Karnataka's PG dental window closes on 17 August, the day before MCC MDS registration opens on 18 August, while Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh all open state Round 1 registration in the days after. Decide now which states you would genuinely accept a seat in and register with each of them within their own window.

Gujarat's ACPPGMEC advertised its 1st Round choice filling as running to 5 September 2026, 11:00 AM, with choices displayed the same day at 3:00 PM — though its own dates table gives the opening date as “31/09/2026”, which does not exist on any calendar; we read this as 31 August 2026 by inference, not as a confirmed date, until ACPPGMEC corrects it. Check medadmgujarat.org before assuming that window is open.
