What this means for your child
Two copies, not one, and both filled in before you travel — the Directorate words it as a direction, and a letter filled in at the college gate is how a reporting day goes wrong. Carry the self-attested NEET admit card and score card with them. The sentence that matters most is the last one: the list the Directorate sent the college is the authentic record, so if what your letter says and what the college list says differ, the list wins. Check your entry against the published result before 27 October and raise any mismatch with the Directorate, not with the college. We do not reproduce candidate names or roll numbers. What this means for your family
If your child was allotted a Meghalaya seat in the first Round-1 list, that allotment no longer stands — only the 17 September re-counselling list counts. On 1 October 2026 DHS (ME&R) advertised a PIMC third round (see the section above). Check meghealth.gov.in regularly for any further vacancy round.

Sangma International Medical College & Hospital (PIMC), Baridua, has published its Second Round Counselling result for 1st year MBBS under State Quota, Unreserved seats — a merit-order list of 7 candidates across General and ST (Khasi & Jaintia) categories, dated 17 September 2026, per Office Order No. DHS(MER)-182/Allot/USTM/164/2026-6099. A Provisional Seat Allotment Letter has also been published, and allotted candidates must submit the Seat Allotment Letter at the DHS Office, Meghalaya, by 21 September 2026. Every candidate must check their own name and time slot on the official shortlist rather than assume a single reporting time for all of PIMC.

What we did and did not publish. These counts and score ranges are OEF’s own compilation from the DME’s official shortlist PDF. We deliberately do not reproduce any candidate’s name or NEET roll number on this page — that is between you and the DME. Check your own name and reporting time slot directly at meghealth.gov.in or on the notice board at the DME office.
Two things worth reading into this table rather than just the totals. First, a shortlist is a call-list for document verification, not a final allotment — seats fill from the top of each list downward, in the order candidates report, freeze or float, so the bottom score on a list is not a promise of a seat, it is the DME’s buffer against no-shows. Second, the buffer size varies sharply by category: Khasi & Jaintia called 162 names for 26 seats (a 6× buffer) and SC/OST called 12 for 3 (4×), so realistically only the upper part of those two lists will convert to a seat in Round 1. Garo called only 44 for 26 seats (under 1.7×) — a much thinner buffer, which means most candidates on that list, even one scoring 181, have a real chance across the three rounds. Management sits in between: 118 shortlisted against 64 seats, roughly 1.8×.
If your score falls below even the Management Quota floor of 179, PIMC will not convert to a seat this year through any of its five published lists. At that point the realistic options are a Round 2/3 stray-vacancy seat elsewhere, a management or NRI quota seat at a private or deemed college outside the Northeast, or reassessing next year. If you are travelling from Guwahati, budget extra time for the walk in from wherever your vehicle can drop you — Laitumkhrah is a busy stretch of Shillong on a counselling day, and this is a documented restriction, not a general caution.

PIMC is running a Second Round of Counselling, and the online-submission deadline has just been extended. The Directorate of Health Services (Medical Education & Research), Meghalaya, notified this "in connection with Directorate Advertisement No. DHSME&R.152/USTM/MBBS/2026/5391, dated 3rd September 2026" — that original Second Round advertisement is the source document for eligibility, seat availability and process, and we have not independently examined it. This 7 September notice covers only the extension itself: for general information, the last date of online submission for Second Round Counselling for admission into 1st year MBBS at PIMC, against State Quota, Management Quota and NRI Quota for Academic Session 2026-27, has been extended to 8 September 2026, till 10:00 AM.
Counselling will be held on 9 September 2026, from 9:00 AM, at the Directorate of Health Services (MI), Conference Room, 3rd Floor, Health Complex, Laitumkhrah, Shillong – 793001 — the same venue used for PIMC's original August counselling and the state's separate 1–3 September round, not the PIMC campus at Baridua. The Second Round Counselling result for PIMC is out. The Directorate of Health Services, Medical Education & Research (DME), Meghalaya, has published the "Result of the Second Round Counselling for Admission to 1st Year MBBS Course to PA Sangma International Medical College for Academic Year 2026-27" — specifically the Result of Candidates in Order of Merit under State Quota – Unreserved Seats. The published table lists 7 candidates in merit order, across General Category (Meghalaya) and ST (Meghalaya) (Khasi & Jaintia) categories, each with their category, 2026 NEET UG score and NEET All India Rank. The result is signed by the Director of Health Services, Medical Education & Research (DME), Meghalaya, Shillong.
Alongside the result, the DME has issued Office Order No. DHS(MER)-182/Allot/USTM/164/2026-6099, and a Provisional Seat Allotment Letter has also been published. Candidates who have been allotted a seat must submit the Seat Allotment Letter at the DHS Office, Meghalaya, on 21 September 2026 — treat this as a hard date until the DME says otherwise.

Meghalaya's Reserved Seats at Colleges Outside the State
DME Notification, Dated 11 September 2026
This is not PIMC, and it is not the local State Quota round covered above — it is a separate, outbound scheme. The Office of the Director of Health Services, Medical Education & Research (DME), Government of Meghalaya, issued Notification No. DHSMER.150/MBBS Admission/2026-27/5607, dated 11 September 2026, in pursuance of Government order No. Health 153/2026/111, also dated 11 September 2026. It publishes a list of Selected Candidates to MBBS Study & BDS at institutions across India — against seats allotted to the State of Meghalaya for these courses for the 2026-27 academic session — in the Unreserved Category, along with a separate Waiting List of further names.
In plain terms: certain MBBS and BDS seats at institutions in other states are reserved for candidates domiciled in Meghalaya, under long-standing seat-sharing arrangements between Meghalaya and those institutions/states. This selection list names candidates allotted to institutions in, among other states, Delhi, Bihar, Assam, Madhya Pradesh, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh and Manipur. This is entirely distinct from PIMC (a Meghalaya-based private college covered above) and from the local State Quota round for Central Pool seats and Shillong Medical College (also covered above) — three different processes running in the same admission season, and they should not be confused with one another.
We have not reproduced the selection list or the waiting list. Per this site's standing practice, we do not publish bulk individual-candidate data — names, NEET scores, ranks, or which specific institution each candidate was allotted — when the source is a list running to 20 or more rows, as this one does. Check the official notification directly at meghealth.gov.in, or at the DME office, Health Complex, Laitumkhrah, Shillong, for your own name, result and allotted institution, and for your position on the waiting list if applicable.

The State Quota exemption applies to the application fee for SC, OST and ST candidates. Tuition is subject to the fee fixation committee, so treat the figures above as the published position on 6 August 2026 rather than a locked contract. Payment runs through SB-Collect, and the advertisement warns explicitly that money leaving your bank account is not by itself proof of payment — keep the transaction receipt and the confirmation page.
The advertisement does not list hostel, mess, caution deposit, university registration or examination charges. Every private medical college in the region carries them. Before you accept a Management seat, ask the college for the total first-year outflow and the year-on-year escalation clause. We have seen families budget for the tuition line alone and get a bill 25–35% higher at reporting.

One line in the eligibility section is worth flagging: the 40% PCB relaxation for ST / SC / OST applies to Meghalaya candidates claiming State Quota seats. If you are applying under Management Quota from outside the state, the advertisement's General threshold of 50% is what you should plan against.

Clause 8 sets out three consequences and none of them are discretionary: admission cancelled at whatever stage the discovery is made, a three-year debarment from any State Government quota course, and legal or criminal proceedings against the candidate and, where applicable, the parents or guardian. The clause names Meghalaya ST / SC / OST and Permanent Resident Certificates specifically, which tells you where the scrutiny will focus.

Baridua sits on the Guwahati–Shillong road at 9th Mile, inside Ri-Bhoi district. From Six Mile in Guwahati it is roughly an hour's drive. For an Assam family that has spent July watching state after state close its quota to outsiders, that geography is the whole point.
Assam has no private medical college. A student from Guwahati who misses the DME Assam state quota and does not clear the All India Quota cut-off has historically had to look at Karnataka, Maharashtra or abroad. PIMC's 64 Management Quota seats change that arithmetic, because the advertisement attaches no domicile condition to them. What it does attach is a ₹22 lakh annual tuition line, which is where the conversation with your family actually needs to happen.
Two practical points. First, the Management Quota counselling fee of ₹3,000 is separate from and additional to the ₹500 application fee, and neither is refundable. Second, the 7–13 August window overlaps almost exactly with MCC Round 1 choice filling and with the Assam, Chhattisgarh and Bihar state windows. If you are running more than one application, write the deadlines on paper before you start — portals do not warn you about clashes on other portals.

On 27 October 2026. The Directorate's Office Order of 23 October 2026 directs eligible candidates to download two copies of the Provisional Seat Allotment Letter, fill in the required details and submit them on that date, with self-attested copies of the NEET admit card and NEET score card.
The Office Order says the official allotment list sent by the Directorate to the college is the final and authentic record, and the college will cross-verify the submitted letters against it. If there is a discrepancy, that list prevails, so take any mismatch to the Directorate of Health Services (ME&R), Shillong, before the reporting date.
The notice of 6 October 2026 from the Directorate of Health Services (Medical Education and Research), Meghalaya, asks candidates in the published list to bring all original documents listed in the advertisement of 1 October 2026 (No. DHSME&R.152/USTM/MBBS/2026/6689), one set of self-attested photocopies and one self-attested passport-size photograph. Counselling is on 8 October 2026 at the office of the Director of Health Services (ME&R), Top Floor, Health Complex, Laitumkhrah, Shillong. The time of reporting is as per the list.
DHS (ME&R) Meghalaya's Advertisement No. DHSME&R.152/USTM/MBBS/2026/6689, dated 1 October 2026, invites online applications for Third Round counselling into 1st year MBBS at P.A. Sangma International Medical College & Hospital, Baridua, Ri-Bhoi, against State Quota, Management Quota and NRI Quota. Online application starts 2 October 2026 at 10:00 AM, the last date is 5 October at 5:00 PM, and counselling is on 8 October. Vacant seats are 61: State Unreserved 2, Khasi & Jaintia 2, Garo 5, SC/ST nil, NRI 22 and Management 30.
On 15 September 2026, the Commissioner & Secretary, Health & Family Welfare, Meghalaya, issued Speaking Order No. Health.153/2026/112 setting aside the Round-1 college allotment for 2026-27 after grievances were received, and ordered fresh, uniform choice filling and counselling under a revised procedure. Re-counselling for State Quota MBBS/BDS (including Shillong Medical College) and Central Pool seats was held on 16-17 September, and the revised list was published on 17 September (Notification No. DHSMER.150/MBBS Admission/2026-27/6101). Selected candidates reported on 21 September.

Sangma International Medical College & Hospital, Baridua, 9th Mile, Ri-Bhoi. It covers all three quotas at that college — State, Management and NRI — for the 2026-27 session. Applications open 7 August 2026 at 12:00 noon and close 13 August 2026 at 5:00 PM on meghealth.gov.in.
Yes, but only through Management Quota or NRI Quota. The 64 State Quota seats are closed to outsiders: they need either a Meghalaya ST/SC/OST certificate from a competent authority in the state, or a Permanent Resident Certificate issued under Government of Meghalaya Political Department Letter No. POL.97/74/174 dated 10 July 1983. Management Quota carries no domicile condition — the advertisement asks only for Indian citizenship, a NEET UG 2026 qualification and the Class 12 marks threshold. That makes those 64 Management seats one of the few genuinely open MBBS routes inside the Northeast.
NRI Quota 22, State Quota 64, Management Quota 64. Within the 64 State Quota seats: Khasi & Jaintia 26 (40%), Garo 26 (40%), Unreserved 9 (15%), and SC/OST 3 (5%). PwBD candidates are accommodated within each of those four categories rather than as a separate block.
Tuition, stated as non-refundable in the advertisement: ₹4,95,000 under State Quota, ₹22,00,000 under Management Quota, and USD 43,000 under NRI Quota, all subject to the fee fixation committee. On top of that: a ₹500 application fee for every quota, and a counselling fee of nil for State Quota, ₹3,000 for Management Quota and ₹25,000 for NRI Quota. Payment is through SB-Collect. Note that the tuition figures are annual and the advertisement does not list hostel, mess or other recurring charges — ask the college for the full first-year outflow before you commit.
The advertisement adopts the MCC 2026 position directly. If you Freeze, you report physically to the institution and complete admission formalities. If you Float, you keep the allotted seat, stay eligible for upgradation in later rounds, and are not required to complete final admission formalities until your allotment becomes final. Choosing Float and then also travelling to report is a common and expensive mistake.
The advertisement is unusually direct about this. Admission stands cancelled immediately regardless of how far into the course you are; the candidate is debarred from any State Government quota course for three years; and legal or criminal proceedings can be initiated against the candidate and, where applicable, the parents or guardian. It names Meghalaya ST/SC/OST and Permanent Resident Certificates specifically. Treat a borrowed domicile as an unrecoverable risk, not a shortcut.
No. Clause 6 of the advertisement says so plainly: appearing and qualifying in NEET UG 2026 confers no right to admission. Selection depends on eligibility, rank in the merit list, medical fitness certified by a board constituted by the Health & Family Welfare Department, and any other criteria the Government of Meghalaya prescribes. PwBD assessment is only valid from Medical Assessment Boards notified under the latest NMC regulations.
Per the DME’s published shortlist (Notification No. DHSME&R.152/USTM/MBBS/2026/4845-A, 14 August 2026): 45 candidates were called for the 9 Unreserved seats, scoring 472 down to 400. 162 were called for the 26 Khasi & Jaintia seats, scoring 467 down to 306. 44 were called for the 26 Garo seats, scoring 380 down to 181. 12 were called for the 3 SC/OST seats, scoring 389 down to 226. 118 were called for the 64 Management seats, scoring 504 down to 179. No separate shortlist was published for the 22 NRI seats as of this writing. These are call-lists for document verification, not a final allotment result, and we have not published any individual candidate’s name or roll number here — check your own status directly at meghealth.gov.in.
Counselling for all quotas runs on 18, 19 and 20 August 2026 at the Office of the Director of Health Services, Medical Education & Research (DME), Top Floor, Health Complex, Laitumkhrah, Shillong — not at the PIMC campus in Baridua. A separate DME notice (No. DHSME&R.152/USTM/MBBS/2026/4847, 14 August 2026) states that no vehicles are permitted inside the Health Complex campus due to limited parking, so plan for drop-off and pick-up outside the campus. Bring all original documents listed in the 6 August advertisement, one set of self-attested photocopies, and one self-attested passport-size photo.
It's on right now — 1 to 3 September 2026, per the DME’s Notification No. DHSMER150./MBBS Admission/2026-27/5286 dated 31 August 2026. This round covers State Quota seats, including Central Pool seats and Shillong Medical College, across all five UG courses together: MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS and BUMS. It's held at the Directorate of Health Services (MI) Conference Room, 3rd Floor, Health Complex, Laitumkhrah, Shillong-1, with candidates called in time slots across the three days. If you can't make your assigned Day 1 slot, the notice explicitly allows you to attend on Day 2 or Day 3 instead, so a missed first day does not cost you your place. Carry the originals: birth certificate, Permanent Residential Certificate, and SC/ST certificate where it applies.
