What this means for your child
Choice filling is compulsory for every candidate who wants Round 3, including those who registered earlier and chose Float; choices filled in a previous round are not valid for Round 3. Candidates already registered in an earlier round do not register or pay again. NEET UG 2026 qualified candidates who have not registered in any earlier round may do a fresh registration, after paying the fees above, and then fill choices.

The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Government of Manipur, opened Round 2 of the Manipur Medical e-Counselling 2026-27 on 5 September 2026 (Notification No. DME-18/1/2026-HEALTH). It covers State Government Quota MBBS/BDS/BASLP seats at RIMS Imphal, JNIMS Imphal, SAHS, CMC and RDC Guwahati, plus Management Quota and NRI Quota MBBS seats at SAHS. Registration, choice filling and locking ran 8–11 September, and a further Notification No. DME-18/1/2026-HEALTH, dated 14 September 2026, has now published the Round 2 merit lists — Annexure A (State Government Quota) and Annexure B (Management Quota MBBS at SAHS) — ahead of the seat allotment result, with reporting still expected 16–18 September. Candidates who registered in an earlier round fill fresh Seat Choices; NEET-UG 2026 qualified candidates who have not registered before may also register now.

The short version. Round 1 (registration 13–19 August, merit list 24 August, result 28 August, reporting to 5 September) is complete. Round 2 registration, choice filling and locking ran 8–11 September 2026 at manipurmc.mn.gov.in, covering State Government Quota seats at RIMS, JNIMS, SAHS, CMC and RDC Guwahati, and Management/NRI Quota seats at SAHS. Two separate non-refundable application fees applied — ₹2,000 (₹1,500 ST/SC) for Government seats only, ₹2,000 flat for Private seats only, or ₹4,000 (₹3,500 ST/SC) for both together — plus a refundable ₹15,000 security fee for every category. Update, 15 September. Notification No. DME-18/1/2026-HEALTH, dated 14 September 2026, has published the Round 2 merit lists: Annexure A for State Government Quota candidates, and Annexure B for Management Quota MBBS candidates at SAHS. This is one step ahead of the previously-expected 16 September result date. The same notification records that no candidates registered for the NRI Quota seats of SAHS in this Round 2 cycle — those specific seats drew zero applicants this round. Update, 19–20 September (counselling update, no notice number located): A counselling update reports that the Round 2 Physical Fitness Examination for Physically Reported and Newly Provisionally Admitted Candidates was held 19 September 2026, 11:30 AM, at the Council Room, A-Block, JNIMS, Imphal. The same update gives 21 September 2026 as the last date for Round 2 Resignation — a deadline still open as of today, so candidates weighing a resignation should act before it lapses. Neither claim carries an official notice number; confirm both directly at manipurmc.mn.gov.in before relying on them.

Zero NRI Applicants at SAHS
What DME notified, 14 September 2026. In connection with the 2nd Round of the Manipur Medical e-Counselling 2026-27, the Directorate of Medical Education, Government of Manipur (Notification No. DME-18/1/2026-HEALTH, issued from Imphal) has published two merit lists for MBBS/BDS/BASLP admission for the 2026-27 session: Annexure A, the merit list of candidates for the State Government Quota, and Annexure B, the merit list of candidates for the Management Quota for MBBS at SAHS. The notification separately records that no candidates registered for the NRI Quota seats of SAHS in this Round 2 cycle — so those seats had no applicants to rank this round. Guwahati families, take note. RDC Guwahati — Regional Dental College, Guwahati — sits inside Manipur's own State Government Quota list for BDS/BASLP, even though the college itself is physically in Assam. A Manipur-domicile candidate based near our Guwahati office does not need to travel to Imphal for that particular seat's classes; only the counselling itself runs through manipurmc.mn.gov.in. What MRC means. Under Rule 2(xi) of the Manipur MBBS/BDS/BASLP (Selection of Candidates for Nomination) Rules, 2021 (amended up to year 2025), a Meritorious Reserved Candidate (MRC) is a reserved-category candidate (SC/ST/OBC) who is selected on merit and placed in the Unreserved (UR) category. An MRC can instead choose a seat earmarked for their own reserved category, so as not to disadvantage less meritorious reserved candidates — such a seat is then treated as part of the UR category, not the reserved one. This is why RIMS's ST and SC columns above show “(MRC)” annotations rather than plain counts. This seat matrix covers State Government Quota only; Management and NRI Quota seats at SAHS are not part of this notification.
Two Fees, and a Choice
of Application Combination
Per Notification No. DME-18/1/2026-HEALTH, registration is complete only after paying two separate kinds of fees:

Plus a refundable security fee. Every candidate, in every category, also pays a ₹15,000 Refundable Security Fee. It is returned only after all rounds of counselling are complete, subject to fulfilment of the relevant conditions — so budget for it as money held, not money spent. No fee is charged separately for Choice Filling in the web application itself.

Round 1 registration and choice filling ran 13–19 August 2026; the merit list of applied candidates was released 24 August; and the seat allotment result — Government Quota as Annexure A, Management/SAHS Quota as Annexure B, NRI Quota as Annexure C — was declared 28 August 2026 on manipurmc.mn.gov.in. Reporting and joining at the allotted institute ran 28 August to 5 September 2026 for most candidates. That cycle is now complete; Round 2 above is the current, open cycle.

We have not independently obtained seat-wise allotment detail for RIMS, JNIMS or CMC and cannot reproduce it here — check your own name and rank directly on the portal. A secondary counselling-update channel separately describes Round 1 reporting for EWS and North-East (NE) category candidates specifically as extended to 8 September 2026 — we have not located a DME notice confirming this category-specific extension, so if you fall in either category, confirm your own reporting deadline directly with DME rather than assume the general 5 September date applies.

The Round 2 schedule and fee structure on this page come directly from Notification No. DME-18/1/2026-HEALTH, dated 5 September 2026, issued by the Directorate of Medical Education, Government of Manipur, Imphal. The Round 2 merit-list update — Annexure A (State Government Quota) and Annexure B (Management Quota MBBS at SAHS), plus the fact that no candidates registered for SAHS's NRI Quota seats this round — comes from a further Notification No. DME-18/1/2026-HEALTH, dated 14 September 2026, also issued from Imphal by the same Directorate. It refers registrants to a separate “Technical Instructions for Registration” notified vide the Directorate’s notification of even number, dated 12 August 2026, which we have not separately obtained the full text of. Three categories: (a) State Government Quota seats for MBBS, BDS and BASLP courses at RIMS Imphal, JNIMS Imphal, SAHS, CMC and RDC Guwahati; (b) Management Quota seats for MBBS at SAHS; and (c) NRI Quota seats for MBBS at SAHS. RDC Guwahati — Regional Dental College, Guwahati — is a Manipur-quota BDS college physically located in Assam, so Guwahati-based Manipuri families should not overlook it.
Two separate, non-refundable application fees apply depending on which seats you apply for: ₹2,000 (₹1,500 for ST/SC candidates) if you apply only for State Government seats; ₹2,000 flat if you apply only for Private (Management/NRI quota) seats at SAHS; and ₹4,000 (₹3,500 for ST/SC candidates) if you apply for both Government and Private seats together. On top of this, every candidate pays a separate, refundable Security Fee of ₹15,000, returned after all rounds of counselling conclude, subject to conditions. No fee is charged separately for Choice Filling.
