Management Quota MBBS seats are 15–25% of total seats in NMC-approved private colleges, filled directly by college management through an institutional process. NEET qualification is mandatory — the qualifying percentile is sufficient, not a competitive rank. Management quota admissions are separate from MCC/state counselling rounds but follow NMC regulations at every step.

Most NEET Students Make
Read this before any counselling round decision. This is OEF's single most important piece of guidance.
Most states allow leaving a Round 1 management quota seat without losing your deposit; later rounds generally do not. We check the exact rule for your state and round before you accept, because this is where the ₹1–3 lakh is usually lost.
Accept a seat in Round 2, Mop-up, or Stray Vacancy and do not join? Your entire deposit is permanently lost — no exceptions, no appeal, no refund possible.
Where the money actually goes: deposit forfeiture rules differ by state and by round, and they are rarely explained at the point of allotment. Reading yours before you commit is the difference between a refundable exit and a lost ₹1–3 lakh.

Only the qualifying NEET percentile is required for management quota MBBS — 50th percentile for General category, 40th for SC/ST/OBC. You do not need a high rank. Yes, NEET UG is mandatory for all MBBS admissions in India including management quota, NRI quota, and government seats. Any consultant or agent claiming MBBS admission without NEET is misleading you. The only requirement for management quota is the qualifying percentile — not a high rank.
If you accept a management quota seat in Round 2, Mop-up, or Stray Vacancy rounds and do not report to the college, your security deposit (₹1–3 Lakhs depending on state) is permanently forfeited with no exceptions. This is why the Round 1 decision matters more than most families realise: in most states, exiting after a Round 1 allotment is permitted without forfeiture, while later rounds are not. NE India Can Apply Anywhere
Students from Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, and Sikkim can apply as Open Category candidates in any Indian state for management quota MBBS. No domicile restriction applies to private college management quota seats. A student from Nagaland pays the same Karnataka management quota fee as a student from Bangalore.
