Shija Academy of Health Sciences —
MBBS Fees 2026, and the Round 1 Allotment Result
The first homegrown private medical college in Northeast India, attached to a genuine 350-bed teaching hospital. Here is what a seat costs, the one thing every applicant gets wrong (there is no SAHS admission process to apply through), and the Round 1 allotment result now published on the Manipur Medical e-Counselling Portal.
Last verified · 29 August 2026 · against manipurmc.mn.gov.in's Round 1 allotment publication (Government, Management/SAHS and NRI quota annexures), 28 August 2026, and DME Notification No. DME-18/1/2026-HEALTH
The short version. SAHS has 150 MBBS seats: 63 State Quota (₹5,00,000/year), 64 Management Quota (₹17,00,000/year), 23 NRI Quota (USD 2,00,000 one-time). Every seat is filled through the Manipur Medical e-Counselling Portal, not a separate SAHS process. Round 1 registration and choice filling closed 19 August, merit lists were released 24 August across all three quotas, and the Round 1 allotment results have now been published on manipurmc.mn.gov.in: Government Quota (Annexure A), Management/SAHS Quota (Annexure B) and NRI Quota (Annexure C), all dated 28 August 2026. Reporting/joining at the allotted institute runs 28 August to 5 September 2026. Check your own name and rank on the portal directly — we have not seen the seat-by-seat detail of those annexures ourselves. On reporting day you need a Demand Draft only: ₹6,00,000 for State Quota, ₹18,00,000 for Management Quota, both inclusive of admission and caution fees.
Read this before you look for a “SAHS application form”
SAHS's own public notice, dated 11 August 2026, states it plainly: “There is no separate counselling/registration process for SAHS.” State Government, Management and NRI quota seats are all counselled through the Manipur Medical e-Counselling Portal at manipurmc.mn.gov.in, run by the Directorate of Medical Education, Government of Manipur. If a website or agent offers you a direct SAHS application outside that portal, it is not the official route.

This is the most recent fee circular available to us. Confirm with SAHS whether these figures apply unchanged to the 2026-27 admission cycle before you budget against them.
One Demand Draft.
No Other Payment Accepted.
| Quota | Demand Draft required | Covers |
|---|---|---|
| State Quota | ₹6,00,000 | Tuition + Admission Fee + Caution Fee, combined |
| Management Quota | ₹18,00,000 | Tuition + Admission Fee + Caution Fee, combined |
The notice does not soften this. Every allotted candidate must bring the required Demand Draft, in favour of Shija Academy of Health Sciences, payable at Imphal, on the day of reporting. No other form of payment is accepted. Failure to submit it results in cancellation of the seat, which then goes to the next eligible candidate. Arrange the DD before you travel to report — not on the way.
A 350-Bed Hospital,
Not a College Built Around a Clinic
SAHS is attached to Shija Hospitals and Research Institute (SHRI), a NABH Pre-Entry certified super-specialty hospital with roughly 350 beds, including 60 critical care beds, staffed by more than 1,300 caregivers and 165 full-time doctors. SHRI began in 1985 as a single clinic at Paona Bazar and has grown into the anchor institution of the HealthVillage campus at Langol. SAHS itself was approved by the NMC on 1 November 2021 (Letter No. NMC/UG/2020/000092/032984), making it the first homegrown private medical college in Northeast India, and is affiliated to Manipur University.
For a region where most private-college options mean leaving the Northeast entirely, a genuinely substantial teaching hospital inside Manipur is worth weighing seriously against the fee.
Management Quota Has
No Domicile Bar. ₹17 Lakh a Year Does.
State Quota at SAHS carries Manipur domicile conditions, same as every state quota in this series. Management Quota generally does not — which is what makes it the realistic route for an Assam, Nagaland or wider Northeast family. ₹17 lakh a year is, across five and a half years plus admission and caution fees, in the region of ₹93–95 lakh before hostel and living costs. That is a serious commitment, and it is also a medical education that keeps a student inside the Northeast rather than in Karnataka or Maharashtra, a few hours from home rather than a flight away.
Compare this against other Northeast options on our regional overview, or see PA Sangma International Medical College, Meghalaya for a second in-region management quota option.
Questions Parents Ask Us
Not directly. SAHS has publicly stated there is no separate counselling or registration process for the college. Every seat — State Government, Management, and NRI quota alike — is filled through the Manipur Medical e-Counselling Portal (manipurmc.mn.gov.in), run by the Directorate of Medical Education, Government of Manipur. You register there, not on the SAHS website. Round 1 registration and choice filling ran 13–19 August 2026 and has closed; the merit list came out 24 August and the seat allotment result was declared 28 August (see the next question).
Yes. Per the revised schedule (DME Notification No. DME-18/1/2026-HEALTH, dated 21 August 2026), the merit list of applied candidates was released 24 August 2026 across State Government, Management and NRI quota, and the Round 1 seat allotment results were published 28 August 2026 on the Manipur Medical e-Counselling Portal, manipurmc.mn.gov.in — Government Quota as Annexure A, Management/SAHS Quota as Annexure B, and NRI Quota as Annexure C. Reporting and joining at the allotted institute runs 28 August to 5 September 2026. Check the portal directly for your own name and rank; we have not reproduced the annexures' seat-by-seat detail here.
Per the fee notice issued 29 July 2025, following a Manipur High Court order dated 28 July 2025: State/Government Quota is ₹5,00,000 a year (63 seats), Management Quota is ₹17,00,000 a year (64 seats), and NRI Quota is a one-time payment of USD 2,00,000 (23 seats). On top of tuition, every candidate pays a one-time, non-refundable ₹75,000 admission fee and a one-time, refundable ₹25,000 caution fee. This notice covers the 2025-26 (5th batch) session; confirm with SAHS directly whether the same figures carry forward to 2026-27, since no updated notice has superseded it as of this writing.
A Demand Draft, and only a Demand Draft — the notice is explicit that no other form of payment will be accepted. For State Quota, the DD is ₹6,00,000, inclusive of tuition, admission and caution fee. For Management Quota, the DD is ₹18,00,000, on the same inclusive basis. Both are payable to Shija Academy of Health Sciences at Imphal. Failure to submit the correct DD on reporting day results in cancellation of the seat, which is then offered to the next eligible candidate — there is no grace period stated.
150 seats a year: 63 State/Government Quota, 64 Management Quota, and 23 NRI Quota. SAHS was the first homegrown private medical college in Northeast India, approved by the NMC on 1 November 2021 and affiliated to Manipur University.

This is a genuinely substantial teaching hospital by Northeast India standards, not a nominal one built to satisfy NMC minimums.
Yes, for Management and NRI quota specifically. State Quota seats carry Manipur domicile conditions, as is standard everywhere in this counselling series. But Management Quota, at ₹17 lakh a year, has no domicile bar in most colleges of this type, and for a family from Assam, Nagaland or elsewhere in the region, SAHS keeps a medical education inside the Northeast rather than requiring a move to Karnataka or Maharashtra. Whether ₹17 lakh a year fits your budget is the real question, and that is worth a direct conversation before you register on the Manipur portal.
