Read this first. The notice we have covers only the 1st Round Counselling window — final merit list through to joining. It does not include the registration or application steps that led up to the merit list, nor does it state fees, eligibility or domicile rules. AMRU says plainly that any change or subsequent round counselling schedule will be uploaded on its website, and candidates should check www.amruhp.ac.in regularly until admission is complete.
The short version. Atal Medical & Research University, Himachal Pradesh (AMRU) — the state government university based at SLBS Government Medical College & Hospital, Ner Chowk, Mandi — issued Notice No. AMRU/(COE)-Admission-120/2026-27(MBBS/BDS)-4760-4770 on 20 August 2026, revising its 1st Round Counselling schedule “subsequent to the revised schedule received from MCC, DGHS New Delhi.” The Final Merit List of 1st round counselling publishes 21 August. Filling and locking the choices of course, college and quota runs 22 to 25 August. 1st Round Provisional seats Allocation is due 27 August, and the 1st Round of Final seats Allocation on 29 August. Candidates then join their allotted college and course between 1 and 3 September 2026. AMRU states any change or later-round schedule will be published on www.amruhp.ac.in — check it regularly.
Five Steps,
Merit List to Joining
| # | Activity | Date |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Final Merit List of 1st round counselling | 21 August 2026 |
| 2 | Filling and locking the choices of Course/College/Quota for 1st round of counselling | 22 August – 25 August 2026 |
| 3 | 1st Round Provisional seats Allocation | 27 August 2026 |
| 4 | 1st Round of Final seats Allocation | 29 August 2026 |
| 5 | Date of joining the allotted college and course | 1 September – 3 September 2026 |
Provisional, then final — two separate allocation steps, two days apart. AMRU's schedule allocates seats twice: a provisional allocation on 27 August, then a final allocation on 29 August. Read the notice on your provisional allocation carefully — whatever change window or confirmation step sits between the two (the notice we have doesn't spell this out) is worth confirming directly with AMRU rather than assuming your provisional seat is automatically your final one.
Fees, Eligibility and Domicile —
Not Stated in This Notice
This notice is a revised time schedule only — it does not state application fees, eligibility criteria, the number of seats or colleges covered, or whether Himachal Pradesh's state quota is open to candidates without HP domicile. As with most states, government-college state-quota seats are typically reserved for domicile holders, with the 15% All India Quota through MCC the route that stays open regardless of home state — but we have not seen AMRU's own domicile rule stated in writing, so treat that as a general pattern, not a confirmed HP-specific fact.
The honest read for a Northeast India candidate. Without confirmed HP domicile eligibility, don't assume either way. Call AMRU directly at 01905-243967 or write to coemedicaluniv.mandi@gmail.com to confirm whether this state-quota round is open to you, or rely on the 15% All India Quota through MCC, which carries no domicile requirement.
