UP NEET UG 2026 counselling has resumed, with a revised schedule now current. Here is the sequence, in order. (1) The 7 September 2026 Round 1 seat allotment was declared void: acting on an order dated 16 September 2026 by the Hon’ble High Court, Allahabad (Lucknow Bench), in Writ-C No. 9943/2026, the U.P. Government issued Government Order No. 263/71-4099/1011/2022, dated 18 September 2026, and DGME UP followed with Notice No. ME-3/2026/1705, dated 18 September 2026, deeming invalid the admission of every candidate allotted a seat on 7 September 2026. (2) In its place, DGME UP rescheduled Round 1 choice-filling — on the same merit list, no fresh registration — to run 18 September 2026 (5:00 PM) to 21 September 2026 (5:00 PM), with a fresh result due 22 September and admission 23–26 September. (3) That rescheduled window was then itself paused: the Office of the DGME, Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow, issued Notice No. ME-3/2026/1707, dated 19 September 2026, stating that UP NEET UG-2026 (MBBS/BDS) online counselling is postponed until further orders, for unavoidable reasons (“अपरिहार्य कारणों से स्थगित”). (4) That pause was brief: per Government Letter No. 265/71-4099/1011/2022, dated 19 September 2026, which cancelled the rescheduled first-round counselling, DGME UP issued Notice No. ME-3/2026/1709, dated 20 September 2026, setting a revised schedule for what the notice itself calls Round 2 (द्वितीय चक्र) online counselling of State Quota UG seats (MBBS/BDS): merit list 21 September 2026; online choice filling 21 September 2026 (2:00 PM) to 24 September 2026 (11:00 AM); seat allotment result 25 September 2026; and allotment-letter download plus admission 26 September to 1 October 2026. Note that Notice 1709 labels this “Round 2,” even though it follows directly from the cancelled first-round re-counselling — a separate, earlier-announced Round 2 schedule (Notice No. ME-3/2026/1644) already exists on this page with different dates; verify at upneet.gov.in or www.dgme.up.gov.in which schedule currently governs your candidature before you rely on either. Two schedules are now both labelled “Round 2” for the same State Quota UG seats, and DGME UP's notices do not resolve this for us. The earlier-announced Round 2 (Notice No. ME-3/2026/1644, 11 September 2026) had scheduled registration 14–17 September, choice filling 17–19 September, result 21 September, and admission 22–25 September. The newly issued Notice No. ME-3/2026/1709, dated 20 September 2026, separately calls its own schedule “Round 2 (द्वितीय चक्र)” counselling, with choice filling running 21–24 September and a result on 25 September — dates that overlap and partly duplicate Notice 1644's own Round 2 result date of 21 September. We report both notices' own wording rather than deciding which one governs; verify your own current status directly at upneet.gov.in or www.dgme.up.gov.in before acting on either.
One other notice, unrelated to this correction, landed on 16 September 2026. DGMET UP set a provisional MBBS fee of a demand draft for ₹15,99,973 for candidates allotted seats at two newly established private colleges — Kalpnath Rai Institute of Medical Sciences, Mau, and RSSS Medical College & Hospital, Mathura — through Round 2 online counselling, expressly subject to revision once the State Government's own fee-fixation process concludes.
UPDATE, 21 September 2026 — UP NEET UG 2026 counselling has resumed; a revised schedule now runs to 24 September. Four stages, in sequence. First: acting on an order dated 16 September 2026 by the Hon’ble High Court, Allahabad (Lucknow Bench), in Writ-C No. 9943/2026, the U.P. Government issued Government Order No. 263/71-4099/1011/2022, dated 18 September 2026, on the basis of which the Office of the Director General, Medical Education & Training (DGME), Uttar Pradesh, issued Notice No. ME-3/2026/1705, dated 18 September 2026: the admission of all candidates who received a seat allotment on 7 September 2026 is deemed invalid. This paused the 18–21 September choice-filling window described above. Fourth, and current as of 21 September: per Government Letter No. 265/71-4099/1011/2022, dated 19 September 2026, which cancelled that rescheduled first-round counselling, the Office of the DGME, Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow, issued Notice No. ME-3/2026/1709, dated 20 September 2026, setting a revised time schedule for what the notice itself calls Round 2 (द्वितीय चक्र) online counselling of State Quota UG seats (MBBS/BDS): merit list 21 September 2026; online choice filling 21 September 2026 (from 2:00 PM) to 24 September 2026 (till 11:00 AM); seat allotment result 25 September 2026; and allotment-letter download plus admission 26 September to 1 October 2026. A WhatsApp broadcast-channel update circulating among candidates states that Round 2 choice filling has started and confirms the same 24 September, 11:00 AM choice-filling deadline — offered here only as corroboration of Notice 1709's own official date, not as an independent source. Because Notice 1644's separately announced Round 2 (see below) already carries different dates for what appears to be the same State Quota UG seats, verify directly at upneet.gov.in or www.dgme.up.gov.in which schedule currently applies to you before acting. Update, 27 September 2026: per this same Notice-1709 schedule, the seat allotment result has since been declared (originally due 25 September) and allotment letters are now downloadable ahead of the 26 September–1 October admission window. For reference — the original Round 1 schedule DGME UP had issued, now superseded by the correction above. DGME UP, Lucknow, had issued a further Extended Time Schedule (Notice No. ME-3/2026/1590, dated 1 September 2026): online registration and document upload ran 1 September 2026 (from 5:00 PM) to 2 September 2026 (till 2:00 PM), with the fee and security money deposit window open an hour longer, and the state merit list due out on 2 September 2026. A second notice the same day (No. ME-3/2026/1605) then set the rest of Round 1: online choice filling from 2 September 2026 (5:00 PM) to 5 September 2026 (5:00 PM), the seat allotment result declared on 7 September 2026, and downloading allotment letters plus completing admission from 8 to 14 September 2026. It is precisely this 7 September allotment result and 8–14 September admission process that DGME UP's 18 September correction, above, declares void. A separate Government Order dated 1 September 2026 (No. 1448377/2026/71-4099/1011/2022) also adds a new horizontal reservation: NCC cadets with at least a 'B' or 'C' grading certificate now get 1% reservation — this reservation rule is unaffected by the correction.
Update, 12 September 2026: DGME UP had also issued a first Round 2 schedule (Notice No. ME-3/2026/1644, dated 11 September 2026): online registration 14 September 2026 (5:00 PM) to 17 September 2026 (11:00 AM), registration fee and security fee deposit by 17 September (2:00 PM), merit list on 17 September, choice filling 17 to 19 September 2026, seat allotment result on 21 September 2026, and allotment-letter download plus admission from 22 to 25 September 2026. Neither the 18 September correction notice nor the 19 September postponement notice mentions this Round 2 by name; and the newly issued Notice No. ME-3/2026/1709 (20 September 2026) separately calls its own, different schedule “Round 2 (द्वितीय चक्र),” so with two differently-dated schedules now both labelled Round 2 for the same seats, verify current status directly on the official portals rather than assuming either one stands unchanged.
Update, 18 September 2026: A further notice that week, unrelated to the Round 1 correction. DGMET UP (Notice No. I/784472/2026, dated 16 September 2026) fixed a provisional MBBS fee — a demand draft for ₹15,99,973 — for candidates allotted, via Round 2, to two newly established private colleges — Kalpnath Rai Institute of Medical Sciences, Mau, and RSSS Medical College & Hospital, Mathura — since NMC New Delhi's fee-fixation process for these colleges is still underway; any shortfall against a later State Government-fixed fee must be deposited separately.

The postponement announced on 19 September did not last: a revised schedule is now current. The Office of the Director General, Medical Education & Training, Uttar Pradesh, 2nd Floor, Kisan Bazar, Vibhuti Khand, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, issued Notice No. ME-3/2026/1709, dated 20 September 2026, titled “UP NEET UG-2026 — Revised Time Schedule for Online Counselling of Round 2 (द्वितीय चक्र).” The notice states that it issues this schedule “in continuation of Government Letter No. 265/71-4099/1011/2022, dated 19.09.2026, which cancelled the rescheduled first-round counselling” — that is, the 18–21 September choice-filling window under Notice No. ME-3/2026/1705 (itself already paused by Notice No. ME-3/2026/1707, dated 19 September 2026) has now been cancelled outright, and replaced by the schedule below for admission to State Quota seats in UG courses (MBBS/BDS) at government and private medical/dental colleges, institutes and medical universities of the state.
A note on terminology, stated plainly rather than resolved by us. Notice No. ME-3/2026/1709 itself calls this schedule “Round 2 (द्वितीय चक्र)” counselling, even though it follows directly from — and appears to replace — the cancelled re-counselling of what had previously been called the first round. This page already reports a separate, earlier “Round 2” schedule (Notice No. ME-3/2026/1644, dated 11 September 2026) for the same State Quota UG seats, with different dates. UP NEET UG-2026 (MBBS/BDS) online counselling was postponed until further orders — a pause since superseded, on 20 September 2026, by Notice No. ME-3/2026/1709's revised schedule (see the update at the top of this page). The Office of the Director General, Medical Education & Training, Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow (कार्यालय महानिदेशक, चिकित्सा शिक्षा एवं प्रशिक्षण, उत्तर प्रदेश, लखनऊ), issued Notice No. M0E0-3/2026/1707 (ME-3/2026/1707), dated 19 September 2026, titled “UP NEET UG-2026 (MBBS/BDS) counselling — important notice.” All candidates participating in UP NEET UG-2026 online counselling (MBBS/BDS) are informed that this counselling is postponed until further orders, for unavoidable reasons (“अपरिहार्य कारणों से स्थगित”). The notice does not state a specific reason beyond “unavoidable reasons,” and does not itself say whether this is connected to the Writ-C No. 9943/2026 court matter discussed below — we note that possible connection only as our own inference, given the timing, not as a confirmed fact. This directly paused the 18–21 September rescheduled choice-filling window described below. If you hold a UP NEET UG 2026 Round 1 allotment letter dated 7 September 2026, it no longer counts. On 16 September 2026, the Hon’ble High Court, Allahabad (Lucknow Bench), passed an order in Writ-C No. 9943/2026. In compliance with that order, the Government of Uttar Pradesh issued Government Order No. 263/71-4099/1011/2022, dated 18 September 2026, and on that basis the Office of the Director General, Medical Education & Training (DGME), Uttar Pradesh, 2nd Floor, Kisan Bazar, Vibhuti Khand, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, issued Notice No. ME-3/2026/1705, dated 18 September 2026: “Rescheduled timetable for the first round of online counseling under UP NEET UG-2026.” The notice states in terms: the admission of all candidates who were earlier allotted a seat on 07.09.2026 shall be deemed invalid.
The notice reschedules the first round of online counselling for admission to State Quota seats in UG courses (MBBS/BDS) at government and private medical/dental colleges, institutes and medical universities across Uttar Pradesh — based solely on the merit list already issued for the first round; there is no fresh registration and no fresh merit list. Only candidates who complete choice-filling and choice-locking within the stipulated window below will receive an allotment in this rescheduled round. All other terms and conditions of the first round remain unchanged. As explained above, this entire window was then postponed by Notice No. ME-3/2026/1707 (19 September 2026) and, per Government Letter No. 265/71-4099/1011/2022 (19 September 2026), referenced in Notice No. ME-3/2026/1709 (20 September 2026), was cancelled outright and replaced with a revised Round 2 (द्वितीय चक्र) schedule; the table below is kept for the record and is not a currently open schedule.

Provisional MBBS fee fixed for two newly established private colleges. The Office of the Director General, Medical Education & Training (DGMET), Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow, has notified the fee for candidates allotted seats via UP NEET UG 2026 Round 2 online counselling at two newly established private colleges: Kalpnath Rai Institute of Medical Sciences, Mau, and RSSS Medical College & Hospital, Mathura. Per NMC (National Medical Commission), New Delhi's Public Notice dated 9 September 2026, since the fee-fixation process for MBBS seats at these two new private colleges is still underway, allotted candidates must submit a demand draft of ₹15,99,973 (Rupees Fifteen Lakh Ninety-Nine Thousand Nine Hundred Seventy-Three only) for the MBBS course, payable to “Director General, Medical Education & Training, Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow”, payable at Lucknow, at the designated nodal centre, to complete the admission process. UP's first published Round 2 schedule is out. The Office of the Director General, Medical Education & Training, Uttar Pradesh, issued Notice No. ME-3/2026/1644 on 11 September 2026, setting the “Time Schedule of Second Round of Online Counseling for UP NEET UG-2026,” in continuation of the time-table issued by MCC New Delhi, for admission to state quota seats of UG course (MBBS/BDS) in Government/Private Medical/Dental Colleges/Universities of the State. This follows straight on from Round 1, whose allotment letters and admission process ran 8–14 September 2026. Note (updated 20 September 2026): that 7 September Round 1 allotment was subsequently declared void by DGME UP Notice No. ME-3/2026/1705, dated 18 September 2026, following an Allahabad High Court (Lucknow Bench) order in Writ-C No. 9943/2026, and Round 1's rescheduled 18–21 September choice-filling window has itself now been postponed until further orders by DGME UP Notice No. ME-3/2026/1707, dated 19 September 2026 — see the correction section above. DGME UP Notice No. ME-3/2026/1705 has declared the admission of every candidate allotted a seat under this schedule on 7 September 2026 invalid, following an Allahabad High Court (Lucknow Bench) order in Writ-C No. 9943/2026. This is a further extension, not a fresh counselling round. DGME UP's original schedule (Notice ME-3/2026/1492, 6 August) ran 7–12 August; that was extended once to 13–14 August (Notice ME-3/2026/1517, 12 August); and it has now been extended a second time, to 1–2 September, under Notice ME-3/2026/1590, dated 1 September 2026. Registration and document upload closed at 2:00 PM on 2 September, while the fee and security money window stayed open an hour longer, until 3:00 PM the same day. The state merit list is due out on 2 September itself — the same day registration closes. A second notice dated 1 September 2026 (No. ME-3/2026/1605) then set the rest of Round 1 in one go: choice filling runs 2 to 5 September, the seat allotment result is due 7 September, and allotment-letter download plus admission runs 8 to 14 September. The 1 September notification also adds a new horizontal reservation: NCC cadets holding at least a 'B' or 'C' grading certificate get 1% reservation, under Government Order No. 1448377/2026/71-4099/1011/2022. The rescheduled round that was to produce a 22 September result was itself then postponed (Notice No. ME-3/2026/1707, 19 September 2026) and has since been cancelled outright and replaced by a revised schedule under Notice No. ME-3/2026/1709 (20 September 2026), styled Round 2 (द्वितीय चक्र) counselling, with a fresh allotment result now due 25 September 2026. Because DGME UP's notices do not explain how this relates to the separately announced Round 2 under Notice No. ME-3/2026/1644, do not assume this reporting guide's college/nodal-centre procedure carries over unchanged — watch the official portals and confirm your reporting venue and requirements before travelling anywhere.
Round 1 allotted candidates — what reporting actually involves (original guide, for reference). The Directorate's own bilingual reporting guide, released for this window (8–14 September), spells out two separate paths. If you are allotted a government medical college, report directly to that college, where document verification, medical examination and the rest of admission happen on the spot. If you are allotted a private medical college, report instead to the nodal centre named on your own allotment letter — not the college itself — where the same verification and examination take place.
Carry the original plus one self-signed photocopy set of: NEET scorecard, NEET admit card, 10th and 12th marksheet/certificate, category/sub-category certificate (if applicable), domicile certificate, Aadhaar/PAN and other required documents, and the required number of photographs. Private-college candidates additionally need a bank demand draft, in favour of Director General Medical Education & Training, Lucknow, payable at Lucknow, for the tuition fee shown for their allotted college (check the fee upload on upneet.gov.in first) — DDs can be split across more than one instrument, drawn from any bank account, provided the total matches the notified annual fee exactly, and each DD must carry the candidate's name and NEET roll number written on the back before it's submitted.
Get a signed reporting slip before you leave, and check it. The guide is explicit: if you do not receive a reporting slip signed by the Nodal Officer, your admission has not actually been confirmed, whatever else you were told at the counter.

Before you fill a single choice, read this. DGME UP has issued a dedicated instructions notice for Round 1 choice-filling and admission. In plain terms: only candidates already declared successful in NEET UG 2026, with security money deposited and documents verified, are eligible to fill choices at all. Fill choices strictly in your own order of priority, and only for colleges you genuinely wish to join — treat every choice as one you would actually accept. Choice-lock after online choice-filling is mandatory; skip it and you are automatically dropped out of the allotment process. Once locked, no correction or change to your choices is permitted, and the Directorate states plainly it will not entertain any application asking for one.
Where you report for admission depends on which sector you're allotted. A government-college seat means admission is completed at that allotted college itself. A private-college seat means admission is completed only at a government-appointed nodal centre — the nodal centre list is published in the UP NEET UG-2026 brochure, not this notice. If you're allotted a private college, carry a CTS bank draft for the government/minority-institution-notified tuition fee, made out to “Director General, Medical Education & Training, U.P.” payable at Lucknow, and submit it at your designated nodal centre at the time of admission — the notice is direct that admission is automatically treated as cancelled if you don't. A 340-ish Score —
What Does Uttar Pradesh Actually Offer?
Let's be direct about state quota first: a score around 340 is not going to be competitive for a UP government MBBS seat. Government college closing scores in UP typically run far higher, and no honest consultant should tell you otherwise.
Private colleges are a different conversation entirely, and this is where Uttar Pradesh's sheer scale changes the picture. UP has one of the largest concentrations of private medical colleges anywhere in India. For management quota seats at these colleges, what matters most is that you hold a genuinely qualifying NEET UG score — not a high-ranking one. This is no longer a rough estimate on our part either: on 1 September 2026, the U.P. Medical Education Department (चिकित्सा शिक्षा अनुभाग-4) individually fixed AY 2026-27 tuition for 35 private colleges by Government Order, so we can now name an actual floor. Our current minimum verified MBBS package in Uttar Pradesh sits at Hind Institute of Medical Sciences, Sitapur — ₹13.6 lakh a year in government-notified tuition, roughly ₹61-62 lakh across the full 4.5-year course, excluding hostel, mess and the refundable security deposit. Most of the 41 U.P. colleges we track for management quota land somewhere between that floor and about ₹75 lakh tuition-only across the course; a smaller number of higher-fee colleges run to ₹85-90 lakh or beyond. In our own experience guiding students through exactly this situation, a NEET UG 2026 score in the 340s has repeatedly been enough to secure an MBBS seat in Uttar Pradesh through management quota, generally at or near that lower end of the range.
Read the ₹61-62 lakh floor as a genuine minimum, not a typical price. It is the least expensive government-notified college on our table today, not an average across all 41 — most families guided through this route end up somewhere between ₹65 lakh and ₹75 lakh tuition-only, depending on which colleges still have management-quota seats open when they register. Hostel, mess and living costs sit outside every one of these figures and need their own budget line; the same Government Orders that fixed tuition also confirm hostel fee, security deposit and miscellaneous charges stay at each college's 2025-26 rate. No. ME-3/2026/1590, dated 1 September 2026: “Extended Time Schedule of First Round of Online Counseling Registration for UP NEET UG-2026,” issued in continuation of the Medical Counselling Committee's national timetable, and superseding the previous Extended Time Schedule (No. ME-3/2026/1517, dated 12 August 2026, which had itself revised the original No. ME-3/2026/1492 of 6 August 2026). A companion notice, No. ME-3/2026/1605, also dated 1 September 2026, sets out the “Time Schedule for the Choice Filling and Admission Process for the First Round under UP NEET UG-2026”: online choice filling from 2 September (5:00 PM) to 5 September (5:00 PM), declaration of the seat allotment result on 7 September, and downloading allotment letters plus the admission process from 8 to 14 September 2026. A further notice, No. ME-3/UG-2026/1610, dated 3 September 2026 (in Hindi, “Important Information/Instructions for the Choice-Filling and Admission Process for the First Round of UP NEET UG-2026”), lays down 10 binding rules: only successful, security-deposited and document-verified candidates may fill choices; choice-lock after filling is mandatory, with no correction permitted afterward; government-college admission happens at the allotted college, private-college admission only at a government-appointed nodal centre; and private-college candidates must submit a CTS bank draft for the notified tuition fee, in favour of the Director General, Medical Education & Training, U.P., payable at Lucknow, at the nodal centre — failing which admission is automatically cancelled. Separately, UP Government Order No. 1448377/2026/71-4099/1011/2022, dated 1 September 2026, adds a new horizontal reservation category under point 6, sub-point (b), serial no. 4: NCC cadets holding at least a ‘B’ or ‘C’ grading certificate get 1% reservation. Verify every date and eligibility detail at upneet.gov.in or dgme.up.gov.in before you register or pay any fee. Separately, the ₹13.6 lakh/year minimum tuition figure and the ₹61-90 lakh course-fee range on this page draw on the U.P. Medical Education Department's own Government Orders No. 175-209/71-4099/89/2026, dated 1 September 2026, for 35 of the 41 colleges on our table — an official notification, not our estimate, for those colleges. All information is to be uploaded on upneet.gov.in and www.dgme.up.gov.in; verify directly there before registering or paying any fee. A further notice from the Office of the Director General, Medical Education & Training (DGMET), Uttar Pradesh, No. I/784472/2026 (file ref DGMET-SEC30MISC/58/2026-S3), dated 16 September 2026 and digitally signed by Alok Kumar, fixed a provisional MBBS fee for candidates allotted, via UP NEET UG 2026 Round 2 online counselling, to two newly established private colleges — Kalpnath Rai Institute of Medical Sciences, Mau, and RSSS Medical College & Hospital, Mathura: since the fee-fixation process for these colleges is still underway per NMC, New Delhi's Public Notice dated 9 September 2026, allotted candidates must submit a demand draft of ₹15,99,973 (Rupees Fifteen Lakh Ninety-Nine Thousand Nine Hundred Seventy-Three only), payable to “Director General, Medical Education & Training, Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow” at Lucknow, at the designated nodal centre — expressly provisional, subject to the State Government's final decision, with any shortfall against a later government-order fee to be deposited by the candidate. A WhatsApp broadcast-channel update circulating among candidates states that Round 2 choice filling has started and that the seat matrix and merit list have been uploaded, with choice filling closing 24 September 2026 at 11:00 AM; we cite it only as corroboration of Notice No. ME-3/2026/1709's own deadline, not as an independent source, since it is not an official notice. Verify current status directly at upneet.gov.in or www.dgme.up.gov.in before registering, paying any fee, or relying on any earlier allotment letter.
How to use this page. The registration and merit-list dates here are taken from DGME UP's own Extended Time Schedule (Notice No. ME-3/2026/1590, dated 1 September 2026), checked against the official counselling authority's website on 1 September 2026. Round 1's original choice-filling, locking and 7 September allotment result were later notified in full and then declared void by a High Court-linked Government Order; where this page discusses a superseded stage, it labels it clearly as superseded rather than presenting outdated information as current. State authorities extend and revise deadlines at short notice, sometimes with only a few hours' warning, so treat this page as a starting point and confirm the current status on the official portal before you pay any fee. This is the Directorate General of Medical Education and Training, UP's own state quota round, issued in continuation of MCC's national counselling timetable. The schedule notice itself doesn't spell out the residential eligibility clause — that detail sits in the full counselling brochure on the official portals, not this time-schedule notice. What is clear either way: the 15% All India Quota through MCC remains open to any candidate regardless of home state, and UP's very large private medical college sector runs management quota admissions that are typically far less domicile-restrictive than the state quota itself.
Scale, mostly. Uttar Pradesh has one of the largest numbers of private medical colleges of any state in India, which means more seats genuinely available through management quota in any given year compared to states with only a handful of private colleges. More available seats means real room to negotiate for a family, on fees and on college choice — it's a large part of why we point Northeast India families here so often when a government seat isn't realistically on the table this year.
