Round 1 Complete, Round 2 Schedule Out — Registration From 14 September

DGME UP's Notice No. ME-3/2026/1644, dated 11 September 2026, sets out the full second round of online counselling for UP NEET UG-2026 state quota seats, issued in continuation of the time-table issued by MCC New Delhi. Online registration runs from 14 September 2026 (5:00 PM) to 17 September 2026 (11:00 AM); registration fee and security fee deposit run the same window, till 2:00 PM on 17 September; the merit list is declared on 17 September 2026; online choice filling runs from 17 September 2026 (5:00 PM) to 19 September 2026 (5:00 PM); the seat allotment result is declared on 21 September 2026; and downloading allotment letters plus the admission process runs from 22 to 25 September 2026. DGME UP's Notice No. ME-3/UG-2026/1610, dated 3 September 2026, sets out the rules directly. Choice-lock after online choice-filling is mandatory — skip it and you are automatically excluded from the allotment process — and once locked, no correction or change to your choices is permitted; the Directorate will not entertain any request to change a locked choice. Where you go for admission depends on the sector you're allotted: a government-college seat means admission is completed at that allotted college itself, while a private-college seat means admission is completed only at a government-appointed nodal centre, listed in the UP NEET UG-2026 brochure. Private-college candidates must also carry a CTS bank draft for the notified tuition fee, made out to “Director General, Medical Education & Training, U.P.” payable at Lucknow, and submit it at the nodal centre at admission — failing to do so means the notice treats your admission as automatically cancelled.

Under a further Extended Time Schedule (Notice No. ME-3/2026/1590, dated 1 September 2026), DGME UP has set new dates for the first round of state quota counselling. Online registration and document upload run from 1 September 2026 at 5:00 PM to 2 September 2026 at 2:00 PM. Registration fee and security money deposit run the same 1 to 2 September window, open an hour longer, until 3:00 PM on 2 September. The state merit list is due to be declared on 2 September 2026 itself, the same day registration closes. This is the Directorate General of Medical Education and Training, UP's own state quota round, issued in continuation of MCC's national counselling timetable. The same 1 September notification also adds a new horizontal reservation category: NCC cadets holding at least a 'B' or 'C' grading certificate now get 1% reservation, under UP Government Order No. 1448377/2026/71-4099/1011/2022.

Through state quota government colleges, a score around 340 is unlikely to be competitive — UP's government MBBS closing scores typically run well above that. But UP has one of India's largest concentrations of private medical colleges, and through management quota at those colleges, a genuinely qualifying NEET score is often what actually matters, not a high one. The tuition side of that equation got a lot more precise on 1 September 2026: the U.P. Medical Education Department fixed AY 2026-27 tuition fees by individual Government Order for 35 private colleges, and on that officially notified data our current minimum verified package is built around Hind Institute of Medical Sciences, Sitapur, at ₹13.6 lakh a year — roughly ₹61-62 lakh in tuition across the 4.5-year course. Most of the colleges we track land closer to ₹65-75 lakh tuition-only across the course, and a handful go higher still. Hostel, mess and the refundable security deposit sit outside those figures and stay at each college's 2025-26 rate under the same Government Orders. In our experience guiding students through this exact situation, a score in the 340s has repeatedly been enough to secure an MBBS seat in Uttar Pradesh through the management quota route at or near that lower end — treat the range as a starting point for a conversation, not a fixed number to plan a budget around blind.

The notice itself covers only the schedule — registration and document upload from 1 September (5:00 PM) to 2 September (2:00 PM), and fee plus security money deposit from 1 September (5:00 PM) to 2 September (3:00 PM). The schedule notice itself doesn't spell out the residential eligibility clause — that detail sits in the full counselling brochure on the official portals, not this time-schedule notice. What is clear either way: the 15% All India Quota through MCC remains open to any candidate regardless of home state, and UP's very large private medical college sector runs management quota admissions that are typically far less domicile-restrictive than the state quota itself.

Scale, mostly. Uttar Pradesh has one of the largest numbers of private medical colleges of any state in India, which means more seats genuinely available through management quota in any given year compared to states with only a handful of private colleges. More available seats means real room to negotiate for a family, on fees and on college choice — it's a large part of why we point Northeast India families here so often when a government seat isn't realistically on the table this year.

Not yet, but the full date is now known. The Extended Time Schedule (Notice ME-3/2026/1590) had the state merit list released on 2 September 2026.
