TRMCC's tentative Round 3 seat matrix dated 8 October 2026 lists, on its MBBS page, 1 seat at Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal, 47 at Agartala Government Medical College, 25 at Tripura Medical College and Dr. BRAM Teaching Hospital, and 61 at Tripura Santiniketan Medical College at that college's prescribed tuition fee rate, with 0 seats at the Government Medical College of Tripura tuition fee rate. Yes, but your Round 2 security deposit is forfeited. The Round 3 notification says such candidates must pay the registration fee and the security deposit again to take part. Also note that a seat taken in Round 3 can neither be upgraded nor resigned.

No. F.5(6)-DME/NEET/UG/Counselling/2025/, dated Agartala, 14 September 2026, states in its opening line that it is issued “in cancellation of the earlier Provisional Allotment Result of Tripura Undergraduate Medical Counselling 2026 (Round-2)” — that earlier Round-2 result, previously expected on 14 September, no longer stands. In its place, the notice publishes a Revised Provisional Allotment Result of Round-2 for general information of all eligible candidates. Every candidate provisionally allotted a seat under this revised result must report at the Office of the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Bidurkarta Chowmohani, Agartala, from 15 September 2026, 12 Noon, to 18 September 2026, 2 PM, carrying copies of eligibility and qualification documents, four passport-size photographs, and executed relevant bonds. Admission at the allotted institution, following physical verification of original documents (eligibility, qualification, category/sub-category), runs 15 September to 18 September 2026, 5 PM — the last date of admission for Round 2. Candidates allotted a seat collect their Nomination Letter from the DME office, Agartala, between 15 September (12 Noon) and 18 September (2 PM), and complete physical verification and admission at their allotted institution between 15 September (2 PM) and 18 September (5 PM) — the last date of admission for Round 2. Candidates who already registered and took part in Round 1 do not register again; they go straight to choice filling, and doing so is automatically treated as willingness for upgradation, with no separate form accepted by TRMCC/DME Tripura. A candidate allotted and admitted to a Round-2 seat cannot resign it, and may only seek upgradation in a later round to the extent the counselling rules allow; a candidate allotted a Round-2 seat who does not take admission may still join a later round, but forfeits the security deposit and must pay it afresh.

Yes. TRMCC declared Tripura's Round-1 provisional allotment result on 31 August 2026, based on the merit list published two days earlier. If you've been allotted a seat, the process now runs in two steps. First, go to the DME office in Agartala, between 1 September (2 PM) and 5 September (2 PM), to collect your Nomination Letter — carry copies of your eligibility, qualification, domicile and category documents, four recent passport-size photographs, and any bond the notice requires you to execute. Second, report to the college you've actually been allotted, between 2 September (11 AM) and 5 September (5 PM), where your original documents get physically checked and you complete admission. Both steps must be finished by 5 September, 5 PM — no grace period is mentioned beyond that hour. Remember this allotment is provisional, not final: TRMCC can cancel it, the nomination, or even a completed admission at any later stage if a document turns out to be false, fabricated or incomplete, or if you don't meet NTA, MCC, NMC, Ministry of Ayush or TRMCC norms. Candidates allotted seats outside Tripura should also arrange a Medical Fitness Certificate from that institution and, where applicable, a Service Bond before the Nomination Letter is issued and a Discontinuation Bond at the time of admission.

105 in total for the 2026-27 session: 30 MBBS seats at Tripura Medical College (TMC) & Dr. BRAM Teaching Hospital, and 75 MBBS seats at Tripura Santiniketan Medical College (TSMC), both reserved for All India candidates other than Tripura domicile, with seat matrices prepared by each college under the Central Reservation Policy, subject to state government approval. These are separate from the 15% All India Quota that MCC allots nationally — this is a state-notified All India category specific to Tripura's own colleges.

No, not under Clause 1, the primary domicile route, which requires the candidate or parents to have resided continuously in Tripura for at least 10 years and explicitly states the applicant should not have applied for domicile of any other state. Four narrower clauses cover children of All India Services officers in the Tripura cadre, children of state or central government employees on deputation to Tripura, wards of ex-servicemen, and children of serving defence personnel from Tripura — each with its own residency test. A candidate from elsewhere in the Northeast without one of these specific connections to Tripura should instead look at the 105 All India seats at TMC and TSMC, or the national 15% All India Quota through MCC.

Registration fee: ₹2,500 for General and OBC-NCL (State Domicile) candidates; ₹2,000 for General-EWS (State Domicile) and OBC-NCL (Non-Domicile) candidates; ₹1,800 for SC/ST/PwD/Other candidates. On top of that, a mandatory, refundable security deposit applies from Round 1 onward: ₹5,000 for SC/ST candidates and ₹10,000 for other categories for Government college seats, but a flat ₹1,00,000 for all categories for Non-Government college seats or any round involving both Government and Non-Government seats. Both the registration fee and security deposit must be paid together during Round 1 registration, via net banking, RTGS, NEFT or UPI.

It depends which round you were admitted in, and the rules tighten as rounds progress. A candidate admitted in Round 1 can participate in Round 2 for upgradation and, if not upgraded, keep the Round 1 seat. A candidate admitted to a Round 2 seat can upgrade in Round 3 but cannot resign it outright — resigning a Round 2 seat forfeits the security deposit. A candidate admitted to a Round 3 seat can neither upgrade nor resign; not joining a Round 3 allotment is treated as exit with forfeiture and elimination from further counselling. There is also no waiting list at any stage — a fresh round of counselling is held instead.

No. The notification states plainly that there will be no AIQ seats reverted to State Quota in Tripura's 2026 counselling. This differs from the practice in some other states, so do not assume an unfilled central seat will become available to a state-quota candidate later in the process.
