Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur IIT KGP was established in the 1951. It is a Public Engineering Institute and is located in Kharagpur, West Bengal. The institute has been given the status of the Institute of National Importance on Sept.15, 1956, when the Parliament of India passed an act called the Indian Institute of Technology (Kharagpur) Act and was also given the status of an Autonomous University. The institute has about 550 faculty, 1700 employees and 9000 students. IIT KGP offers the following programs: B.Tech. (15 programs) B.Arch, Dual Degree (35 programs) MBA, MHRM, LLB, MMST, MCP, M.Sc/ M.Tech/ MS (67 programs) PhD programs
