MBBS Eligibility
Eligibility criteria’s for MBBS admission in India are set by The National Medical Commission (NMC) now. The candidate who fulfils the eligibility criteria are considered for MBBS admission in India. If any candidate is found ineligible at any stage of MBBS admission, will have their application cancelled.
- Academic Eligibility: To get MBBS admission in India, the student must have completed 10+2 or Higher Secondary (HS) in Science Stream from a recognized board.
- Subjects Studied: To get MBBS admission in India, students should have completed 10+2 or HS with Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
- Marks requirement: For MBBS admission in India must have 50% marks in PCB for the General category. For ST, ST and OBC category students mark required for MBBS admission in India is 40%.
- Age: Student should be at least 17 years for MBBS admission in India. The upper age is 25 years for MBBS admission.
- Entrance: Candidates looking for MBBS admission in India, must write and qualify NEET exam for admission. Eligibility required for General Candidate for MBBS admission is 50th percentile and 40th percentile is required for SC/ST/OBC category.
MBBS Admission Process
Here are the steps, students need to follow to secure MBBS admission in India:
- Entrance Registration: Students need to register themselves by logging into the official site for NEET registration i.e www.ntaneet.nic.in
- Form fill-up: Candidates need to fill up the online form for MBBS admission in India by filling up personal and academic details. Post filling up the form, the candidate needs to upload the relevant documents.
- Application fees: At the next step candidate needs to pay the application fees i.e Rs. 1500/- (For General-UR), Rs. 1400/- (for General- EWS/OBC) and Rs. 800/- (For SC/ST/PwD/Transgender)
- Download: At the next step if application status is confirmed. Kindly take a printout of the NEET application form.
- Admit Card: Based on the details provided by the candidate, NTA will issue admit card on the said date for your MBBS admission entrance.
- Entrance: Now the candidate needs to appear for the test. To get MBBS admission in India, the candidate needs to secure a good score, so that they qualify for MBBS admission.
- Counselling: Selected/Qualified candidate can register themselves for counselling now.
MBBS admission Entrance Exams
NEET exam consists of 3 sections: Physics, Biology & Chemistry. There is a total of 180 questions asked, 45 for Physics, 45 for Chemistry and 90 for Biology. Each correct answer gives you 4 marks and each incorrect answer gets -1 negative marking.
NEET syllabus
NEET UG syllabus includes Physics, Chemistry and biology of Class 11th and 12th as prescribed by NCERT.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has been formed for the conduct of all India competitive exam and NEET UG also conducted in 2019. The Central Board of Secondary Education Conducted the NEET from 2013 till 2024
