Kaziranga University (KU), Jorhat was founded in 2012 by the Trust under The North Eastern Knowledge Foundation (NEKF). KU has been established under the Assam Private University Act,2007. The university is approved by AICTE and recognized by UGC. It is one of the largest private universities in North-East India. It offers Management, Computing Sciences, Engineering, Health Sciences, Basic Sciences and Social Sciences courses in multiple disciplines.

The Assam Kaziranga University was established with infrastructure competing with global standards and was the result of a noble thought. AKU came into existence in 2012 with a vision to transform the most dynamic seven-sister states into a knowledge hub of high quality education.
