PDVVP Foundation’s Medical College & Hospital has emerged as an excellent center in Medical Education, Training & Research center
The extreme shortage of medical facilities promoted Dr. Vithalrao Vikhe Patil Foundation to establish Medical College at Vilad Ghat, Ahmednagar in 2004. Under the able guidance and mature insight of the founder Shree Balasaheb Vikhe Patil, the institute has acquired remarkable achievements both in terms of academic & health services at grass root level. The College offers undergraduate course in Medicine (MBBS) with an intake of 150 students per year. The institute is recognized by Medical Council of India, New Delhi in December, 2008 and is affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik. The Medical complex is situated in an area of 33 acres in the beautiful scenario of Vilad Ghat, Ahmednagar.
The college also offers Post Graduate Medical Course in the following disciplines from 2011.
Padmashri Dr. Vithalrao Vikhe Patil a legendary figure in the history of Co-Operative enterprise in the country was a humble farmer by birth. He pioneered co-operative movement as a tool for social, educational & economic upliftment of the rural masses. His untiring efforts changed the rural scene of Maharashtra & created awareness amongst the people to lead a prospective purposeful life. He was awarded "Padmashree" the distinguished title in appreciation of his life`s work with the co-operative movement, at the hands of the President of India, Late. Dr. Rajendra Prasad in 1961. He was felicitated with the honorary D. Lit. degree by University of Pune in 1978 and Doctor of Science in 1979 by Mahatma Phule Krishiv Vidyapeeth, Rahuri.To realize the visionary thoughts, his worthy son-Hon`ble Shri. Balasaheb Vikhe Patil, Ex Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, established "Padmashri Dr. Vithalrao Vikhe Patil Foundation" in the year 1982, with sole aim to spread technical and medical education in the developing rural and urban areas.
