Amreli is located in the center of three major cities of Saurashtra region in Gujarat State. Junagadh, Bhavnagar & Rajkot. The district is featuring a peaceful lifestyle, pollution free city, and an enormous scopes of development into each fields of business, including healthcare and medical education sector. It is also a hub cum epicenter of education, as most of the students from remote areas of district are directed to Amreli for College and higher education facilities. Amreli is having Domestic airport connectivity under UDAAN scheme run by PM of India. The city falls roughly about 100 km from each of three cities mentioned above (Junagadh, Bhavnagar, Rajkot), having their own medical colleges functional as on today. Rajkot has it’s own domestic airport also. Therefore, there has been a paramount urgency in the Amreli region of Gujarat for an efficacious centre of quality medical service and education since many years. Seizing this clarion call, Shri Vasantbhai Haribhai Gajera, the President of Smt Shantaben Haribhai Gajera Charitable Trust, has initiated the process of establishing ‘Shantabaa Medical College’ at Amreli Civil Hospital Campus under Public Private Partnership with the government of Gujarat from July 2017.
