Saraswati Group of Educational Institutes, established in the year 1996, is a reputed and professional educational group having a Medical College with 650 bed hospital, a Dental College with 120 Bed hospital, a Nursing College and Aviation Academy to train Pilots. Vision & Mission
Saraswati Group of Educational Institutes started as Saraswati Dental College in the year 1998 and has seen tremendous growth in the past 21 years. SGEI was born out of the vision of one man who has ever since headed this Group with vigour and vitality. Late Col. (Dr.) T.S. Mathur was born in the year 1942 in the city of Lucknow in the state of Uttar Pradesh. After pursuing his studies in the field of Dental Surgery from the prestigious King Georges Medical College, Lucknow, Col. Mathur was commissioned into the Indian Army as a First Class Officer in the year 1965. During the 25 years in the Army command, he saw various Dental Centers all over India. During his travel across the length and breadth of the country, Col. Mathur got the opportunity to experience various cultures and systems spread across various states of our beautiful Country. In 1990 Col. Mathur took retirement from the Indian Army and settled down in his hometown Lucknow. He realized that Uttar Pradesh was far behind in the field of professional education when compared to states like Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra. With a vision to give the students a state of art education based on Global needs and high moral values he conceptualized what today stands as the top Dental College of the State,” The Saraswati Dental College” or SDC, in the year 1998, incorporating and invoicing the name of The Goddess of Learning “Maa Saraswati”. In the year 2004 SDC got its Recognition from the DCI and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare New Delhi and Post Graduate program (M.D.S.) was subsequently started in the year 2005. This M.D.S. program has set benchmarks in the field of Dental teaching and research.
In the year 2009 Col.Mathur took upon him to create one of the finest Aviation Academies in the Country. The “Saraswati Aviation Academy” or SAA and a 120 bedded general hospital by the name of “Saraswati Hospital and Research Centre”. The Saraswati Medical College was established in the year 2016 with its own Hospital of 650 beds and intake of 150 students annually.
It is said that behind every successful man there is a woman and Col. Mathur's wife and the Vice Chairperson of the Group, Mrs. Madhu Mathur, who has been a teacher for the past 35 years and Visharad in Indian Classical Music from the famous Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad, has always been a pillar of strength to Col. Mathur and a mother and mentor to all the students of Saraswati.
