Santosh University introduced the BDS course under Santosh Dental College in the year 1995 with a capacity of about 40 students. In 2004 the intake was increased to 100.

The college is attached to Santosh Hospital, a 700 bedded hospital in the Ghaziabad.

College was affiliated to Chaudhary Charan Singh University till Santosh University was created and the college got affiliated to it. The Santosh University got the status of Deemed University under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 and notified by the Government of India in Notification No. F.9-2/2003 U-3 dated 13.06.2007 by the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human of its activities. The Santosh university provides education in the field of Medicine, Dentistry, Allied Health services and Hospitals.

 

Dental graduates during their training at the Dental College will acquire knowledge, skills and develop professional attitudes required to fulfill all activities and responsibilities. The dental practice involves the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of anomalies, also diseases of the teeth, mouth, jaw & associated tissues. After its completion, the graduate will have a deeper understanding of Community Oral Health Education and will be able to actively participate in rural health care delivery programs across the country.

 

The Government of India, under Section 10A (4) of the Dentists Act 1948, granted permission to start the B.D.S. course with an intake of 40 students from the academic session 1995-96 in Santosh Dental College, Ghaziabad. Initially, the course started with 40 students. The Central Government granted permission for increasing the student capacity from 40 to 100 from the batch of 2004- 2005. The students are given a complete understanding for the biological and physical process of oral health care. They learn the skills associated with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases related to oral cavity. The students learn to serve the society by improving the dental and oral health of individuals. The associated dental hospital provides special dental care in pediatrics and oral surgery.
