Dasmesh Institute of Research and Dental Sciences, Faridkot (DIRDS) was established in year 1992 by Sangat Sahib Bhai Pheru Sikh (SSBPS) Educational Society under the chairmanship of distinguished political leader, philanthropist, educationist and social worker, S. Karnail Singh Singh Doad Ex. MLA, Faridkot, Government of Punjab, with a vision to facilitate quality Dental health care & education of global standards. In the year 2105, because of his health related issues he nominated S.Gurdev Singh Brar IAS (Retd), as new president of Sangat Sahib Bhai Pheru Sikh Educational Society.
Dr.Gursewak singh, Vice president SSBPSES & Director DIRDS, he is attached with this institution from day one and put his soul efforts for the growth and development of this institution. His vision towards the quality academics is exemplary and his guidance further made this institution in reaching the current global standards. Also the commitment, dedication & vision of other eminent board members of SSBPSES have shaped DIRDS into a premier Dental College of Northern India.
The Dental College is fully equipped with state of the art diagnostic, treatment and training facilities. Under the dynamic leadership of Principal, Prof. (Dr.) S.P.S Sodhi, former Executive Member of Dental Council of India, former Senate Member of BFUHS, Editor in Chief Baba Farid University Dental Journal, Editor in Chief Journal of Stomatognathic Sciences, presently member of board of studies BFUHS, eminent scholar and academician of national fame DIRDS is endowed with renowned faculty.
The College campus is situated a Kilometre from the main city of Faridkot on Talwandi Road and with ultra modern amenities such as hostels with separate mess for boys and girls, world class academic auditorium, conference hall, cafeteria, sports arenas, central library with a huge collection of journals and periodicals, text books. Continuing Dental Education Program is an integral part of regular academic activities in all the Departments, which provides area specific dental education to promote high-quality dental practice to the students and dental professionals.
